My Review of Wild

So I recently watched Wild and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...............

With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed (played by Reese Witherspoon) has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behavior, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone.

This film is simply remarkable. Reese Witherspoon is an Oscar winning actress and her performance in this film is amazing and it will get a lot of attention come Oscar season and rightfully so. She is the predominant figure on screen and see the backpack on her back in the poster, that's the film because she carries it all the way through to the end of the film. Jean-Marc Vallée (who directed last years' Dallas Buyers Club) again does a great job of making the film about the characters and it makes the film a real character study and as the film goes on you truly feel the heartbreak that this woman went through. Laura Dern (who is the film for few scenes) gives a great supporting performance and you could very well hear her name come Oscar season. My one little complaint about the film is that it's so dramatic and heartbreaking that you really don't get a lot of joyful mom moments and it that makes the film really depressing. Overall though the film is spectacular and Reese Witherspoon is going to give Rosamund Pike all she can handle for the Best Actress Oscar. I give Wild a 9.5 out of 10.
