My Review of Transformers: The Last Knight

So I recently watched Transformers: The Last Knight and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Transformers The Last Knight poster.jpg

Humans are at war with the Transformers, and Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) is gone. The key to saving the future lies buried in the secrets of the past and the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Now, it's up to the unlikely alliance of inventor Cade Yeager (played by Mark Wahlberg), Bumblebee (voiced by Erik Aadahl), an English lord (played by Sir Anthony Hopkins) and an Oxford professor (played by Laura Haddock) to save the world.

If anyone thought Transformer films couldn't get any worse, then they haven't seen this film. My oh my what to say about this film and franchise that hasn't already been said. The trailers for the film weren't the greatest in the world, but it did present a lot of great info that could make for a great film (had somebody else directed), but those concepts are barely in the film and when they are in the film you have no idea what is going on because of the mayhem surrounding both key scenes. The film starts out like a solid departure from what we are used to seeing and it kinda gets your hopes up, then when they move into present day, it feels like someone has stabbed you in the back. In a Transformers film you have to at some point really focus on those characters and just like the previous 4 films, the humans are the focal point and when we do get Transformers moments, they either happen towards the end of the film in the big climatic battle or a short 30 second scene to provide just a tad bit of background the story (or lack thereof). If there is one thing we can count on in a Michael Bay film is that the action is going to come at you nonstop and it does just that in this film and these might be some of the best action scenes he's ever gotten on camera and  the visuals are just absolutely stunning and makes a terrible film look somewhat decent trying to cover up the bad on the inside. One thing the series has been able to do is get legendary actors to have somewhat major roles in the film and Sir Anthony Hopkins is the legend this go around and his performance and role might be the worst out of all the big name actors to join the franchise over the years. Overall this film is lackluster and Michael Bay said this would be his last go at the franchise and if so then thank goodness we can finally get a fresh take on this franchise. I give Transformers: The Last Knight a 2.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Transformers: The Last Knight, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.

My Review of Rough Night

So I recently watched Rough Night and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Rough Night.png

Jess (played by Scarlett Johansson) is an engaged politician who reunites with three of her college friends for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. The night of hard partying soon takes a hilariously dark turn when a male stripper accidentally dies at their beach house. Amid the craziness of trying to cover it up, the women ultimately find themselves becoming closer when it matters most.

This is a really boring and dull film that just doesn't make any sense. Right off the bat, all of the characters are extremely stupid and constantly get more and more annoying as the film goes on. The situations they get themselves are really predictable and they play out exactly how you would expect. The film has some great actresses in the group and between they do have some great comedic chemistry together, but outside of comedy they don't really have anything else that works or helps the film move along a smooth pace. One thing that is most confusing about the film is all of the plot twists that come in to play and like certain things you can only twist so much before you break and this film uses 4 of them which for a film like this is just not something that works all too well. It's a film that really doesn't have a sense of direction and it really under utilizes the talent it has to have more emotional moments to connect with the characters other than in a comedic tone and it uses most the cliches we've come to see in previous films like this. Overall the film is fun in parts, but it takes a basic plot and over complicates everything when it could've went a different route and really doesn't many chances with the cast in order for them to be more likable. I give Rough Night a 2 out of 10.

1. Transformers: The Last Knight unsurprisingly took over the number one spot but it had the lowest opening weekend total for the franchise by $26 million. While it did horribly domestically, internationally, the film mad $269 million and it looks like it will still make enough money to help warrant a sequel
2. Wonder Woman continues to tear up the competition as it remains in the top 5 for the 4th consecutive weekend, It also needs $13 million to pass Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice domestically for the highest grossing film of the DCEU.
3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had a nice 8 week run in the top 10, but this could be its last weekend with only new major release coming out this week, but there is an outside chance it stays in for at least one more week.
4. The biggest loser of the weekend was All Eyez on Me as it made 78% less than it did last weekend.
5. I went 4 for 5 on my predictions.

Predictions
1. Despicable Me 3 $65 Million
2. Transformers: The Last Knight  $21 Million
3. Baby Driver $20 Million
4. Wonder Woman $15 Million
5. Cars 3 $6 Million
