My Review of The Imitation Game

So I recently watched The Imitation Game and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Theatrical Release Poster for The Imitation Game with Cumberbatch.jpg

During the winter of 1952, British authorities entered the home of mathematician, cryptanalyst and war hero Alan Turing (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) to investigate a reported burglary. They instead ended up arresting Turing himself on charges of 'gross indecency', an accusation that would lead to his devastating conviction for the criminal offense of homosexuality - little did officials know, they were actually incriminating the pioneer of modern-day computing. Famously leading a motley group of scholars, linguists, chess champions and intelligence officers, he was credited with cracking the so-called unbreakable codes of Germany's World War II Enigma machine.

This film is amazing. Benedict Cumberbatch has been an Actor on the rise for a few years now and he's been in a lot of films and all of his hard work has payed off for this film. This is one of the more stranger characters he's played, but you're so intrigued by him because of everything Alan Turing did in both his professional and personal life. His performance will garner him a lot of attention come awards season and he be will nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. The film itself is very dark and it has a lot of suspenseful and emotional moments that just build and build until the ultimate climax of the film where you cheer for this man, but in the same token you feel heartbroken because of his suffering after everything he did for the war. The supporting cast in the film which includes Keira Knightly, Matthew Goode and Mark strong all give solid and amazing performances as well. My problem with the film is that the script really ins't that strong and the film can sometimes can get a little boring. Overall the film is amazing and it is full of outstanding performances, but the story gets a little boring. I give The Imitation Game a 9.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Imitation Game, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
