My Review of Annie (2014)

So I recently watched Annie (2014) and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Annie (played by Quvenzhané Wallis), a young, happy foster kid who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they'd be back for her someday, it's been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (played by Cameron Diaz). But everything's about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (played by Jamie Foxx) - advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (played by Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (played by Bobby Cannavale) - makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he's her guardian angel, but Annie's self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it's the other way around.

This movie is flat out terrible. It is a complete and utter disgrace to the original film and to the musical as well. The film has a overly talented cast that really tries way to hard in every scene. The two I'm most disappointed in are the two former Academy Award nominees (one being a winner) Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis who both look uninterested and embarrassed to be in the film. The film tries way too hard on the jokes and they are not timed well at all and the music in the film is deafening. It's a paint by numbers story and it's full of cliches that are just over the top and unnecessary. This may be one of the worst adaptations for the story to date . Overall their is nothing to like about the film and it's one of the worst of the year. I give Annie (2014) a 0 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Annie (2014), what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
