My Review of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

So I recently watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado....

A chimp brandishes an automatic rifle while astride a rearing horse.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar (played by Andy Serkis) is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

This film is awesome. I had really high expectations for the film and everyone of them were met. The film delivers possibly the best story if the year as well as the best visuals of the year. Matt Reeves takes over the directors chair from Rupert Wyatt and delivers and Oscar-worthy film. I really don't know what to say about Andy Serkis's performance that hasn't already been said but my goodness he is absolutely brilliant in the film and it will be a shame if the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (aka The Academy Awards/Oscars) doesn't consider his performance for Best Actor at next year's Oscars. Not only does Serkis give his best performance, but the main human characters played by Jason Clarke, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman all giver powerful and emotional performances. Speaking of emotions you will experience every single one of them while watching the film such as happy, excited, sad, mad and frustrated (all in a good way). The film is also a great sci-fi film that makes us question what we ourselves would do in this situation. Overall it's a smart, well written and well acted film that outdoes it's predecessor in every single way. I give Dawn of the Planet of the Apes a 10 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
