My Review of When the Game Stands Tall

So I recently watched When the Game Stands Tall and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

When The Game Stands Tall tells the remarkable journey of legendary football coach Bob Ladouceur (played by Jim Caviezel), who took the De La Salle High School Spartans from obscurity to a 151-game winning streak that shattered all records for any American sport. When the streak is broken, and tragedy strikes the team, Coach Lad must teach his players - and the entire town - that it's not about how you fall, but how you get back up.

This movie was really disappointing. Now as you all know I love sports movies (in general football movies) and how they inspire people to be better people and to encourage them that they can do great things. This film does that but in the over-the-top in your face way. The film is way to emotional and focuses more o people's personal lives and it cares less about the football aspect. If the filmmakers had balanced that out then the film could have been great. Now I will say that in the scenes in which football is going on the film dleivers some of the best on-screen football action of all-time. Jim Caviezel and Laura Dern do give great performances in a lesss than stellar film. Overall the film is way to over-the-top for its own good. I give When the Game Stands Tall a 2 out of 10.
