My Review of Guardians of the Galaxy

So I recently watched Guardians of the Galaxy and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

The five Guardians, sporting various weapons, arrayed in front of a backdrop of a planet in space.

Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (played by Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana) and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer (played by Dave Bautista). But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

This movie was a pleasant surprise and I absolutely loved it. This movie was a big risk for Marvel Studios who have brought us The Avengers and this film hits it out of the park. The film takes us to worlds we've never seen before and the visuals in the film make those worlds look absolutely beautiful and this is possibly the best visual film that Marvel has given us to date. It also does a really nice job of blending action, seriousness and comedy and it is able to keep those traits consistent throughout the entire movie. The acting in the film is pretty excellent and each actor owns their characters especially Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista. But personally the character of Rocket Raccoon steals the film and every time he is on screen he brings a different energy to the film and that's accredited to Mr. Bradley Cooper (who voiced the character). On a little side note the film has possibly the best soundtrack for a movie ever. The only real problem that I had with the film is that the villain of Ronan the Accuser was one of the weaker (character wise) villains that Marvel has given to us so far. Overall the film was fun, entertaining, quirky and it is one of the best films of the year so far and I'm excited to see them in the future. I give Guardians of the Galaxy a 9.5 out of 10.
