My Review of Her

So I recently watched Her and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.........................

Theodore Twombly (played by Joaquin Phoenix) is a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive entity in it own right, individual to each user. Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet "Samantha" (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), a bright female voice, who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each other

This film was better than I expected it to be. Joaquin Phoenix's performance is just masterful and delighting and I won't be shocked if gets and Oscar nomination. Speaking of Oscar nominations Director Spike Jonze's (as well as writer) (as well as an executive producer of the Jackass films and tv series) story and screenplay are just magnificent and you can really tell that it is his movie and his vision (some of his other works include Being John Malkovich (nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards), Adaptation (nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards) and Where the Wild Things Are), the visuals of the film which is set in the not so distant future are breathtakingly wonderful. The supporting cast that includes Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde and Chris Pratt are just wonderful in the film. The one thing wrong with the film is that there is certain lull in the film in which nothing really happen and while I enjoy looking at Scarlett Johansson, I wasn't to keen on hearing her voice the entire movie. Overall I give the film a 9 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Her, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments and let your voice be heard.
