My Review of We Are Your Friends

So I recently watched We Are Your Friends and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

We Are Your Friends.jpg

Cole (played by Zac Efron), a struggling 23-year-old DJ in the electronic dance music scene, dreams of becoming a major record producer. When an older DJ, James (played by Wes Bentley), becomes his mentor, Cole connects with James' girlfriend, Sophie (played by Emily Ratajkowski). Cole's relationship with Sophie blossoms and breaks the bond with his mentor, which forces Cole into difficult decisions about his future.

This an absolutely dreadful and awful film. Zac Efron is an amazing actor and he has really proven himself in dramatic roles (Me and Orson Welles) and his comedic roles (Neighbors), but he just absolutely dreadful in the film and this easily one of his worst performances of his entire career. The plot is just absolutely terrible and there is nothing to like about the film from the story to the performances or the characters themselves. If you are a fan of electronic music then you may like this movie, but you would be a very small minority. The director of the film is Max Joseph who is also on the hit tv show Catfish and while that's great and everything, he just doesn't transition well to the big screen and he pretty much makes an MTV music video (that's something that most of you have no idea what those are). Overall this is an absolutely terrible film and it is one of the worst movies of the year. I give We Are Your Friends a 0 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of We Are Your Friends, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.

  1. I have to disagree. It has no direction whatsoever and plus all of the characters are really huge douchebags so in essence you have no one to root for in the film. I'm glad you liked it, but to me personally it is a utter piece of garbage film.
