So I recently watched Sinister 2 and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.......
In the aftermath of the shocking events in "Sinister," a protective mother (played by Shannyn Sossamon) and her 9-year-old twin sons (played by real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death.
This is a pretty terrible film. One of the things that worked really well for the first film is that it came up with some new original ways to scare you while paying omage to older horror films. This film however does nothing original and pretty much uses a lot of the same scares that the first film did. The film isn't that scary and the performances to try help those scary moments are lackluster and mailed in. One the thing the film was missing was the direction of Scott Derrickson who was able to make the first film really special and this film just doesn't build on the created momentum. The story does have a few interesting twists and turns, but it's mostly predictable and boring. Overall this is a lackluster sequel and horror film. I give Sinister 2 a 0.5 out of 10.
