My Review of Underdogs

So I recently watched Underdogs and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.....

Jake (voiced by Matthew Morrison) is a shy, but talented, foosball player. His passion for the game is rivaled only by his love for free-spirited Laura (voiced by Ariana Grande). With her encouragement, he beats the town bully, Flash (voiced by Nicholas Hoult), in a foosball game. But everything changes when Flash becomes the world's best soccer player and returns years later to turn their village into a new sports stadium. He starts to destroy everything and kidnaps Laura in the process. Just when it looks like all hope is lost, the toy figures from Jake's foosball table come to life! He and the players embark on a wild adventure to save Laura and reclaim their village. With the help of his team, his town, and a little bit of magic, Jake will try to save the day.

This was a pretty bad film. The film looks good on paper, but it ends up being a complete mess. While the studio did get a pretty solid voice cast together, they seem like that honestly don't care and the delivery of dialogue is just comes off as really cheesy. The story itself is really cheesy and hokey to the point where I was laughing at how bad it was. I did like the animation and what they were able to do with the foosball players in the final scene. The other thing that really bothered me was that the film felt way too long while the it only has a 97 minute runtime. I feel that kids will enjoy the movie simply because it is an animated film, but the adults that go with them will be begging for the film to be over ASAP. Overall this is a really terrible film that had potential to be something different and unique. I give Underdogs a 2 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Underdogs, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
