My Top 10 Most Anticipated Films of The First Half Of 2014

As I said in my Top 10 Favorite Films of 2013, it has been a wonderful year of movies that will stand the test of time for years to come. With all of that being said its time to look towards 2014 and my oh my there are some really good films coming. So I've decided to give you and put together My Top 10 Most Anticipated Films of the first half of 2014. Now this list will comprise of films that will be released between January 1st, 2014 and June 30th, 2014. Some of the movies haven't released posters but once they do I will update them accordingly Now a little side note there is a film that comes out on January 10th called Lone Survivor and I'm really excited to see it, but it was actually released on Christmas Day in New York City and Los Angeles to have it out and ready to be an Oscar contender for the upcoming 86th Annual Academy Awards to be held on March 2nd, 2014, so with that being said I cannot put it on my Most anticipated films list because it is technically a 2013 film. Anyway with further ado here is the list...

10. Godzilla
Godzilla (2014) poster.jpg

I absolutely love Godzilla and I was let down by the 1998 version, so I'm really excited to see this new reincarnation. The world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who threaten our very existence. Godzilla is set to be released on May 16th and is has been rated PG-13.

9. Neighbors
Neighbors (2013) Poster.jpg

This film looks to be funny as hell and I can't wait to see it. A couple with a newborn baby move into a new neighborhood and face unexpected difficulties following the establishment of a fraternity house in the adjacent residence. An intensive conflict between the two parties ensues. Neighbors is set to be released on May 9th and it is rated R.

8. A Million Ways to Die in the West

I love everything Seth McFarlane does and his film directorial debut was awesome (it was Ted) and I'm excited to his next project.  After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test. A Million Ways to Die in the West is set to be released on May 30th and it has been rated R.

7. Noah

As most of you know I'm a believer of God and the Bible and i'm excited to see this Hollywood take on this awesome biblical story. No need to really give a plot description on the film especially if you've read the story. Noah is set to be released on March 28th and it has been rated PG-13.

6. 22 Jump Street

I though the first film was one of best comedies in recent memory and it was one of my favorite films of 2012. After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (played by Jonah Hill) and Jenko (played by Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don't have to just crack the case - they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them. 22 Jump Street is set to be released on June 20th and it has been rated R.

5. Transformers: Age of Extinction

I'm a huge Transformers fan and I loved the first film in the franchise (the other two not so much). No plot summary has been released but I'm overly excited simply because as you can see by the poster the one thing that has been revealed (not official though) is that the the miraculous and awesome Dinobots are coming and I can't wait. Transformers: Age of Extinction is set to be released on June 27th and it has been rated PG-13

4. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spiderman takes on multiple villains

I really liked The first film and I'm really excited to see this film. Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield) continues to struggle with balancing his life as a high school student, and his responsibilities as Spider-Man. When Peter begins to investigate more about his father's past, thanks to the help of his friend Harry Osborn (played by Dane DeHann), he begins to realize that the new threats of Electro (played by Jamie Foxx) and the Rhino (played by Paul Giamatti) all have one thing in common: OsCorp. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released on May 2nd and it has been rated PG-13

3. The LEGO Movie
The Lego Movie poster.jpg

As a kid I loved building different things with LEGO's and when I first heard about the movie being made I was skeptical at first but the first trailer sold me. In the LEGO universe, an ordinary minifigure named Emmett (played by Chris Pratt) is mistaken as being the Special—the last living Master Builder—who can save the LEGO universe. With the help of an old mystic named Vitruvius (played by Morgan Freeman), a tough young lady named Wyldstyle (played by Elizabeth Banks) and Batman (played by Will Arnett) along with a small troupe of LEGO DC Heroes, Emmett will have to unlearn everything he saw in the instructions and learn the power of imagination to defeat the evil tyrant Lord Business (played by Will Ferrell) who is bent on destroying the nature of LEGO universe and recreating it as he sees fit by gluing it together. The LEGO Movie is set to be released on February 7th and it has been rated PG.

2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Captain America The Winter Soldier.jpg

I absolutely love comic book films, especially the films in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and I'm really excited for this film. Two years after the events of The Avengers, Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans) resides peacefully in Washington, D.C., struggling to adapt to contemporary society. However, after a S.H.I.E.L.D. compatriot is assailed, Steve becomes entangled in a mystery that may endanger the globe. Together with Natasha Romanoff (played by Scarlett Johansson), Captain America attempts to uncover the growing machination while fending off hired hit men. When the entire scheme is discovered, Captain America and the Black Widow must recruit the aid of the Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie) and soon encounter an unanticipated and powerful adversary — the Winter Soldier (played by Sebastian Sean). Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set to be released on April 4th and it has been rated PG-13

1. X-Men: Days of Future Past

I love the X-Men and I'm really excited to see this next installment in the franchise. The X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in a battle that must change the past – to save their future. X-Men Days of Future Past is set to be released on May 23rd and it has been rated PG-13.
