This film is another great one. The film tells the story of Flint Lockwood (played by Bill Hader) who is a failed inventor is forced to live on a lonely island called Swallow Falls whose only source of food is sardines. After his frequent failed attempts, Flint decides to make a machine that creates food and he calls it the Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator or "FLDSMDFR" for short. After seeing the invention  fail he decides that he will never invent again, only to wake up the next morning seeing massive amounts of delicious food being dropped from the sky and realizes his invention actually works. After the town thrives with new resources and countless media attention Flint soon becomes a hero, until one day the machine creates a mind of its own and begins to make food and suddenly threatens to destroy the town. Along the way Marlin gains a companion in his journey whose name is Dory (played by Ellen DeGeneres) who is one of the most forgetful people in the world The film gives us beautiful visuals of the ocean and has one of the best story's for an animated film.         Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias), who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father (voiced by Kyle MacLachlan) starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Fear (voiced by Bill Hader), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black), Disgust (voiced by Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. Inside Out has a rating of 98% on rottentomatoes.com.

5. The Incredibles
The Incredibles.jpg

When you combine two of my favorite genres in superhero films and animated films, you know that I'll like it. The story follows a family of superheros living a quiet suburban life, forced to hide their powers. When father Bob Parr's (played by Craig T. Nelson) yearning for his glory day and desire to help, drags him into battle with an evil villain named Syndrome (played by Jason Lee) and his killer robot, the entire Parr family is forced into action to save the world. I absolutely love this film and fans for a long time have been clamoring for a sequel but I don't think well be getting one until at least 2020. The film won two Academy Awards including Best Animated Feature Film and Best Sound Editing it was also nominated for two other Academy Awards including Best Original Screenplay and Best Sound Mixing. The film  currently has a rating of 97% on rottentomatoes.com.

4. Despicable Me 2
Despicable Me 2 poster.jpg

I absolutely love this film its in my top 5 favorite films of this year and it is one of the funnies films of 2013. Having given up his life of crime, Gru (played by Steve Carell) now aims to produce a delicious new line of jams with the help of his tiny minions and his old pal Dr. Nefario (played by Russell Brand). Feeling unfulfilled in his new found role as a jam-maker, Dr. Nefario announces that he will be departing for more evil pasture just as Gru is approached by the Anti-Villain League to capture the mysterious culprit who jut stole a top-secret research lab filled with PX-41( an experimental serum with the strength to transform harmless animals into ravenous monsters. The AVL is certain that the culprit is covering his tracks by posing as a small business owner at a local mall, and assign their best agent Lucy (played by Kristin Wiig) to aid Gru in identifying him. Meanwhile Gru's oldest adoptive daughter Margo (Played by Miranda Crossgrove) falls for rebellious teen Antonio (played by Moises Arias), the leather-jacketed son of boisterous Mexican cantina owner Eduardo (played by Benjamin Bratt). Now, with Gru's parental instincts kicking into full gear just as a dastardly plot begins to unfold, the devoted new father must divide his time between saving the world from an enigmatic super-villain, and saving Margo from total heartbreak. All the while, a suitable mother for the girls may have been standing right under Gru's pointy nose the entire time. This film is so funny and the minions are hilarious as well . The film is the sequel to Despicable Me and a third film is in the works as well as a Minions spin-off movie that is slated to be released in 2015. Despicable Me 2 is as of right now the 2nd highest grossing film of the year behind Iron Man 3. The film will undoubtedly will win Best Animated feature at the Oscars this year and it currently holds a rating of 75% on rottentomatoes.com.

3. Wreck-It-Ralph
Theatrical release poster depicting Ralph along with various video game characters

This film is one of my favorite films of last year and it is very hilarious. The film tells the story of the titular arcade game villain named Ralph (played John C. Reilly) who rebels against his role and dreams of becoming a hero. He travels between games in the arcade, and ultimately must eliminate a dire threat that could affect the entire arcade, and one that Ralph himself inadvertently started. This film combines my love video games and animated films and I absolutely love it. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and it currently holds a rating of 86% on rottentomatoes.com.

2. Shrek
Shrek.jpg

This film is absolutely hilarious and has it also a lot of adult humor. When a green ogre called Shrek (played by Mike Myers) discovers his swamp has been 'swamped' with all sorts of fairy tale creatures by the scheming Lord Farquaad (played by John Lithgow), Shrek sets out, with a very loud donkey (played by Eddie Murphy) by his side, to 'persuade' Farquaad to give his swamp back. Instead, a deal is made. Farquaad, who wants to become the King, sends Shrek to rescue Princess Fiona (played by Cameron Diaz, who is waiting for her one true love. But Once they head back with Fiona, it starts to becomes apparent that not only does Shrek like Fiona, but Fiona has been keeping a dark secret. I absolutely love this film and it all makes us beg the question of what could have been. I say that because before he passed  Chris Farley was originally signed on to voice the character Shrek but as a tribute to his late friend the role went to Mike Myers. Shrek was the first film to win the Award for Best Animated Film and it was also nominated for the academy award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film also has three sequels entitled Shrek 2, Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After as well as a spin-off entitled Puss in Boots. Shrek currently holds a rating of 89% on rottentomatoes.com.

1. Toy Story 3
Many toys all close together, with Woody and Buzz Lightyear holding the top of a number 3.

This is the film that probably has one of the most emotional endings in cinematic history and I absolutely love this film. The focuses on the toys Woody (played by Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (played by Tim Allen), and their friends dealing with an uncertain future as their owner, Andy (played by John Morris), prepares to leave for college. This film is absolutely heartwarming and is one of the best film of all-time. This film won the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature an Best Original Song, it was also nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Sound Editing. Toy Story has two films that came before it entitled Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Toy Story 3 has a rating of 99% on rottentomatoes.com.
