A Look Ahead at Marvel's Phase 3 and What Films We Could Possibly See

In today's film the highest grossing genre is the Superhero Genre. One of the major players is Marvel. Marvel has established an unprecedented movie universe using somewhat lesser known characters to accomplish something we have never or will ever see again. Currently Marvel is in their Phase 2 stage of movies. Below is a list of films that have been released for Phase 1, Phase 2 and what is still yet to come for Phase 2.

Phase 1

Iron Man (Released May 2, 2008)
The Incredible Hulk (Released June 13, 2008)
Iron Man 2 (May 7, 2010)
Thor (May 6, 2011)
Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22, 2011)
Marvel's The Avengers (May 4, 2012)

Phase 2

Iron Man 3 (Released May 3, 2013)
Thor: The Dark World (Set to be Released November 8, 2013)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Set to be Released April 4, 2014)
Guardians of The Galaxy ( Set to be Released August 1, 2014)
The Avengers: Age of Ultron (Set to be Released May 1, 2015)

Now some of you may ask why isn't Spider-Man, The X-Men or The Fantastic Four involved in the universe. Well back in a dark time when Marvel was bankrupt they sold off a few properties including the ones mentioned above. Now the only Marvel will ever get them back is if those films start to become financial failures and lose Sony (owns Spider-Man) or Fox (owns X-Men and Fantastic Four) a lot of money.

With all of the above being said I want to take a look into my crystal ball and predict what Marvel's Phase 3 will look like. Now two films have been confirmed one being Ant-Man (set to be released July 31, 2015) (Which it has been rumored that he will be played by either Paul Rudd or Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and The Avengers 3 (release date has yet to be determined). But back in June of this year Marvel Studios announced three release dates for future films with no projects attached to the dates.

Those dates are..... May 6, 2016, July 8, 2016 and May 5, 2017

Now here is my prediction of the films we will see on these release dates and why. I will also predict who I think should step into the roles.

Black Panther-

1. He's already been teased in a scene in Iron Man 2. At the end of the film when Tony Stark and Nick Fury are having a discussion there is a screen that shows the fictional African country Wakanda (which is where Black Panther is the leader of the country.)
2. Marvel needs to start introducing more black superheros. We have one on the way in Captain America: The Winter Soldier by the way of Sam Wilson a.k.a The Falcon (who will be played by Anthony Mackie).

This guy is an Academy Award caliber actor who bring a wonderful version of the character. You can currently see him in the film 12 Years A Slave.

Vision
Avengers Vol 4 24.1.jpg

1. He's a creation of Ultron (Ultron is the villain in The Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron) to set a trap for The Avengers. (We very well might see him in The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron).
2. Marvel already has a the perfect actor to play this character and it make sense for this character and actor.

Vin Diesel

Now he is scheduled to play the talking tree Groot in the upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy but before signing on to be Groot, Diesel was reportedly in negotiations to star in a Marvel Phase 3 film  and while at marvel studios he posed with a picture of Vision while also changing his Facebook profile picture to Vision. Now this could all be for publicity, but I take it as a sign that we will see Diesel as Vision.

Dr. Strange

1. In his time as a comic book superhero he's had run ins with several members of The Avengers on several different occasions
2. He holds the power of several artifacts (such as the Cloak of Levitation, The Eye of Agamotto, The Book of the Vishanti, and the Orb of Agamotto) that could help The Avengers when they face off against Thanos in The Avengers 3.
3. The film is in the works just, but there has been no casting, director, script or release date.

"McDreamy" has been vying for the role for a  couple of years and he can look the part of Dr. Stephen Strange.

Now the announcements of the films are to be announced in mid-2014 (most likely at Comic-Con 2014). With that being said I feel that Marvel will also announce another film and release date besides to the ones mentioned above adding to two films in 2017 and 5 in total for Phase 3 leading up to The Avengers 3. I believe that film will be

Ms. Marvel

1. Eventually either DC or Marvel will take a chance on a female superhero solo film. I believe that Marvel will strike first and if it is a success then DC will immediately begin work on a Wonder Woman film.
2. Like with black superheros, there has to be a female led film

She looks the part and she is absolutely beautiful. Plus I think that it Ms. Marvel needs to be a relatively unknown actress. You can see her in the upcoming film I, Frankenstein.

So ladies and gentlemen what do you think of this article and what are your predictions on Phase 3? Let me know in the comments and let your voice be heard.
