Pitch Perfect 2

This was a really nice 2nd trailer. It gave us a better look at the film and it showed a few new scenes. My main concern with the trailer is that it showed a lot of new jokes and usually a  film shows the best jokes in trailers so that they can get more people to see the film and the film ends up being bad. I honestly hope that this isn't the case for this film because I really enjoyed the first film and I'm looking forward to this one.

Summit Entertainment has just released a new propaganda-style poster for director Daniel Espinosa’s latest, Child 44, which you can check out in the gallery below! The film, based on Tom Rob Smith’s 2008 bestseller, stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Vincent Cassel. A politically-charged serial killer thriller set in 1953 Soviet Russia, Child 44 chronicles the crisis of conscience for secret police agent Leo Demidov (Hardy), who loses status, power and home when he refuses to denounce his own wife, Raisa (Rapace), as a traitor. Exiled from Moscow to a grim provincial outpost, Leo and Raisa join forces with General Mikhail Nesterov (Oldman) to track down a serial killer who preys on young boys. Their quest for justice threatens a system-wide cover-up enforced by Leo’s psychopathic rival Vasili (Kinnaman), who insists “There is no crime in Paradise.” Produced by Ridley Scott and featuring an adapted screenplay by Richard Price, Child 44 opens in theaters on April 17.

This is a really cool poster. I;m huge fan of propaganda style posters and this is the best one I've ever seen. It doesn't tell you much about the movie, but it does peak people's interest. The film sounds interesting and the cast that has been put togehter is very talented and could make this film better than people expect it to be.

Following a viral campaign, Summit Entertainment has just released the new trailer for their highly anticipated sequel The Divergent Series: Insurgent and you can check it out below. Directed by Robert Schwentke (RED, The Time Traveler’s Wife), the film continues to adapt the bestselling book series by Veronica Roth and stars Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars, White Bird in a Blizzard), Theo James (Underworld: Awakening, London Fields), Kate Winslet (Labor Day, Contagion), Octavia Spencer (The Help, Black or White), Suki Waterhouse (Pusher, Love, Rosie), Jonny Weston (Project Almanac, Chasing Mavericks), Naomi Watts (Birdman, The Impossible), Rosa Salazar (Epic, Jamesy Boy) and Keiynan Lonsdale (“Dance Academy”). Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world. The Divergent Series: Insurgent hits theaters March 20, 2015.

I thought this was an ok trailer. Look I never read the books, I didn't like the first film and I'm not the target audience. The trailer looked like it overused the cgi and it honestly looks like a mess. I want every film to succeed, but I just can't get behind it, but I know it'll make a lot of money and that's all that matters to the studio.

The upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse is aiming to be both a closing chapter and a new start for the classic Marvel characters on the big screen. Though planned as the conclusion of the “First Class” trilogy, the film will also introduce younger versions of previously-seen characters and seemingly pave the road for a new batch of “X-Men” movies to follow. One of those new additions is “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, who believes her work on the HBO series led to her getting cast in the film. “I think maybe one of the reasons that they chose me for [Jean] is because they saw the dark side of Sansa,” Turner tells IGN. “Maybe they’re thinking, ‘Oh, Phoenix, Jean Grey.’ I definitely see a lot of parallels in there…..[Jean] struggles with her power… and not being accepted in the human world. I think in terms of [Game of Thrones], that’s kind of the way Sansa felt in that she really wanted to be a normal princess/queen and live a normal life — and she doesn’t, because of all this havoc happens. I think Jean, in a way, feels that.” Turner went on to talk about the influence of Famke Janssen in the role, saying she plans to emulate her in addition to bringing her own flair to the character. “I think Famke played Jean incredibly well, but also, I’m playing a younger version of her,” Turner said. “I want to emulate Famke in a sense, because she has to seem like the Jean in the first two movies, but I’m also going to put my own twist on her. I think I’m also going to take inspiration from the comics. I don’t know, we’ll see.” Turner is joined by James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult in addition to Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert and other newcomers Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Tye Sheridan Cyclops.  The film is being written by Simon Kinberg from a treatment by Mike Dougherty, Dan Harris and Kinberg. Cameras will start rolling on the next adventure in Montreal beginning in April. X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.

These are some really interesting comments. I absolutely enjoy hearing an actor/actress talk so excitedly and show interest in a character. With her saying that she wants to emulate Famke Janssen and to also read about the character in the comics shows that she is committed to the character and the film. I'm not the biggest Game of Thrones fan, but from what I've heard she is a really talented actress and I cannot wait to see how she handles the character in the film.

Principal photography on Pete’s Dragon commenced today in New Zealand. A reimagining of the 1977 Disney classic, the family film will blend live action and CGI to tell the story of the special bond between an orphaned boy, Pete, and his best friend, Elliott, who just happens to be a dragon. The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) as Grace, a park ranger who discovers the existence of Elliott; 10-year-old Oakes Fegley (This is Where I Leave You) as Pete; Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games) as Jack, a local mill owner; New Zealand native Karl Urban (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Jack’s brother, Gavin; Oona Laurence as Natalie, the young girl who befriends Pete; and Oscar-winner Robert Redford (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, All the President’s Men) as Grace’s father.  Pete’s Dragon is directed by David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints) and produced by Jim Whitaker, with Barrie Osborne serving as executive producer. The screenplay is by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks. WETA Digital, the visual effects company founded by filmmaker Peter Jackson based in New Zealand, will utilize the latest in digital effects to bring the dragon, Elliott, to life. The film is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters August 12, 2016. “This is a story about how magic can enter one’s life and change the way they see the world. And I think David Lowery is the perfect director to bring this project to life,” says Whitaker. The production begins shooting in and around Wellington before moving north to the Rotorua area, and will complete principal photography in the South Island communities of Tapanui and Invercargill. Film New Zealand, the country’s national film office and sister agency Film Wellington assisted the Walt Disney Studios in assessing and confirming New Zealand for the production. “New Zealand has long been a wonderful partner for film production. Wellington’s state-of-the-art facilities and filmmaker-friendly community, in particular, make it an ideal location to shoot and be based out of,” says Osborne.

This is really great news to hear. You always hear about films possibly getting made and they never do. but it's always reassuring when a film begins shooting because you know that it is actually going to happen and I'm looking forward to this film. I really enjoyed the first film as a kid and with cast that has been assembled I'm excited for the film and I can't wait to see this world come to life once again.
