Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...
(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)
It's been some time since Matt Damon made his last big screen appearance as Jason Bourne in director Paul Greengrass' Robert Ludlum adaptation, The Bourne Ultimatum, in 2007. Although the franchise has moved forward in the actor's absence, casting Jeremy Renner as the lead in The Bourne Legacy, Damon today reiterates to CNBC what he's been saying for years. He's willing to return to the franchise, but only with Greengrass on board and with the right screenplay.
"I've always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director," Damon says. "We've just never been able to come up with a story... It felt like such a good way to end it last time. Having said that, I love that character. I'd love to see what happened to him."
I would actually like another Bourne film. Look Bourne Legacy wasn't the greatest thing in the world and that 's mainly because Matt Damon wasn't in it. I would really like to see them bring both Jason Bourne and Aaron Cross togehter for one big team-up film.
If you ventured out to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this weekend, you were no doubt left with a few questions, such as: "What was up with those Doctor Octopus and Vulture teasers?" and "Where do we go from here?". While the announcement of the third and fourth "Amazing Spider-Man" films tells us that Sony is planning on keeping this franchise going for some time, director Marc Webb says they had to make sure that those super villain teasers weren't present for nothing.
"I had to talk to Drew Goddard (The Sinister Six writer/director) and make sure these things were going to be played out in the future universe," he said in an interview with Grantland. "There are some very specific plans, for example, for [Doc] Ock and for Vulture. Or the man in the hat at the end of the first movie. All those things emerge with varying degrees of emphasis."
Hearing this news isn't really surprising. I mean Doc Ock and Vulture were teased in the first trailer and they will probably be the villains in the 3rd film. If not then Rhino could be the main villain for the next film and they'll save the Sinister Six movie for Doc Ock and Vulture and the other essential characters that are needed.
Although director Duncan Jones' Warcraft is already well into production, fans won't see the video game adaptation hit the big screen until March 11, 2016. According to Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull, that's because some very big things are planned for the film's post-production phase.
"Part of it is getting the date right," Tull tells CraveOnline. "As you may have noticed, these next two years, there’s pretty big titles coming out. We wanted to make sure that we got that right, but there are some sequences and some things that Duncan Jones has done that are truly on the cutting edge. You want to have plenty of time to make sure that we dial those in. So by the time they get home and set up, it’ll be a little less than two years. It’ll be about 20 months but we really want to take our time and get this right because the technology that’s employed really is some next generation stuff."
Starring Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Rob Kazinsky, Dominic Cooper, Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown.
I really like hearing this. It's always a good thing when a film takes the right amount of time just to make the film be perfect. But it can also hurt the film in the sense that the people working on the film can get fatigued and possibly get lazy towards the end of production. With that being said I have faith in this film and I can't wait to see it.
Delivery Man star Britt Robertson is set to star opposite Scott Eastwood in Fox 2000's upcoming adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' latest novel, The Longest Ride, Deadline reports. The adaptation is planned to hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
The Longest Ride, published last fall, follows two sets of lovers in two intertwining stories. The first story is told through flashbacks of a 90-year-old veteran's life and the love he has for his departed wife. The second story follows a student who falls in love with a similarly-wounded bull rider.
I just have to ask one question... Why? The past couple of films have been horrible and had no point of being made. These film are horribly written and have the same plot. Look I like reading the books but they don't all need to be films.
Wildwood Enterprises and Route One Films announced today the start of production on A Walk in the Woods, the film adaptation of acclaimed humorist and travel writer Bill Bryson's best-selling memoir. Ken Kwapis (He's Just Not That Into You) has signed on to direct the film and new cast members include Nick Offerman, Kristen Schaal and two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson. They join Academy Award winner Robert Redford and three time Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte. The film was written by Academy Award winner Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine).
A Walk in the Woods is a road trip comedy about an aging travel writer who decides to hike the 2000-mile Appalachian Trail, accompanied by a long estranged high school buddy he's been avoiding for years. Along the way, the duo face off with each other, nature and an eccentric assortment of characters only to discover that some roads are better left untraveled.
This film sounds really cool. Both Nick Nolte and Robert Redford are amazing actors and them being in a buddy comedy sounds interesting. The only problem I have is the director. He's Just Not That Into You wasn't funny at all and I'm just worried that he could screw this film up.
