My Review of The Best of Me

So I recently watched The Best of Me and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Dawson (played by Luke Bracey as young Dawson and James Marsden as older Dawson) and Amanda (played by Liana Liberato as younger Amanda and Michelle Monaghan as older Michelle), two former high school sweethearts find themselves reunited after 20 years apart, when they return to their small town for the funeral of a beloved friend. Their bittersweet reunion reignites the love they've never forgotten, but soon they discover the forces that drove them apart twenty years ago live on, posing even more serious threats today. Spanning decades, this epic love story captures the enduring power of our first true love, and the wrenching choices we face when confronted with elusive second chances.

I'm just going to ahead and say that this movie is flat out terrible. I honestly don't understand why people (mainly women) look forward to these films. All of the Nicholas Sparks novels are the same. Don't believe me well then read this... The guy is from the wrong side of the tracks and the girl is rich and beautiful. The both fall in love with each other but are forced by the girls parents to not see each other. After some time they reconnect or completely disregard the orders that were given to them. Then they fall in love and something tragic happens in the form that someone always die. Whether it be the couple themselves (The Notebook), the girl (A Walk to Remember), father (The Last Song and Dear John), ex-lovers (Dear John, The Lucky One and Safe Haven) or the guy (Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe and SPOILER ALERT but the guy dies in this film as well). These movies always give you a false hope of love and are so poorly written. The film just repeats cliches from the previous films and it brings nothing new except where the film is set. Overall the film is dumb and pointless. I give The Best of Me a 0 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Best of Me, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
