Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have officially released the Star Trek Beyond trailer, showing off the first official footage from the Enterprise crew’s latest big screen adventure. Check out the Star Trek Beyond trailer below. Star Trek Beyond is set to feature the return of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho along with new roles for Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella and Joe Taslim. Abrams, who directed the last two films, is producing the third film in the rebooted franchise with four-time Fast and Furious franchise helmer Justin Lin directing from a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung. Star Trek Beyond will hit regular theaters and IMAX on July 22, 2016. That’s just over a month before the franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary. Although it wasn’t the first episode produced, “The Man Trap” was the first Star Trek episode to be broadcast and it hit network television September 8, 1966.
I thought this was an ok trailer. Look a lot of you know that I am somewhat a fan of the star Trek franchise (heck one of the films is in my top 10 favorite films of all-time) and the two most recent films have really brought life back to the franchise and this trailer looks to do the same. However this didn't feel like a Star Trek trailer and it felt more like Guardians of the Galaxy. The action and the visuals looked really great, but the humor and the choice to use The Beastie Boys famous song Sabotage really just didn't fit well. Now granted the song was used in the first film for our first introduction to James T. Kirk, but I don't think it should've been used in the trailer. Hopefully the second trailer can makeup for that and I'd really like to know more about the film itself.
Almost one year ago, actor Mark Wahlberg was pretty sure that he would return for a Transformers 5, and though some progress has been made on the next entry in the franchise, Wahlberg hasn’t spoken about returning again, until now. In an interview with CinePop, Wahlberg confirmed once again that he’ll be back for the film. In the fourth film, “Age of Extinction,” Wahlberg played Cade Yeager, a Texas inventor and mechanic who was also very protective of his daughter, Nicola Peltz’s Tessa Yeager. Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed over $1.1 billion at the global box office, bringing all four films combined to a total gross over $3.7 billion. Transformers 5 is set to be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Director Michael Bay hasn’t not been officially confirmed to return, though Bay remains in contention to return to the helm of the franchise. In addition, Ant-Man scribes Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari will script an animated “origin story” film that will be set on the Transformers’ homeworld of Cybertron. Both films came from the newly formed “Transformers writers room,” which includes the likes of “The Walking Dead” and “Invincible” creator Robert Kirkman, “Fringe” and “Lost” scribe Jeff Pinkner, X-Men: The Last Stand and The Incredible Hulk‘s Zak Penn, “Black List” scribes Geneva Robertson-Dworetrepeat, and “Marvel’s Daredevil” season one showrunner Steven DeKnight.
I like that Wahlberg is returning, but I could also care less. Look Mark Wahlberg is a fantastic actor and I generally think he is great is just about everything he is in, but the film is going to suck. The reason for that is because of Michael Bay and Michael is a terrible director and as long as he is attached to this franchise, that stigma is going to be around. I mean the studio can put together some great trailers and that's what hooked me into seeing Transformers: Age of Extinction and the film was just an abomination. I honestly feel that they will try to sucker me into seeing the fifth film, but I won't fall for it this time
Following the reveal on Saturday that a new trailer for Deadpool will be coming on Christmas Day, 20th Century Fox has today kicked off the 12 Days of Deadpool leading up to the trailer. On the first day of Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth gave to us: a brand-new poster! Featuring more innuendo than you can shake a stick at, and a tongue-in-cheek reference to 1989’s Batman, you can check it out below. Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Reynolds stars as the title character alongside T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax. The film will also feature the mutant Colossus, though Daniel Cudmore has confirmed he will not appear as the character. Reynolds has also expressed a desire that Hugh Jackman might cameo as Wolverine, though it remains unconfirmed as to whether or not he will actually appear. Tim Miller is directing the movie from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Confirmed to be rated R, Deadpool is scheduled for a release on February 12, 2016.
I really enjoy this poster. Now some of you might feel that the poster is a little too vulgar, but if you have to fully understand the character of Deadpool and this is the type of humor he uses so if you don't like it then you probably won't see the film. I love the marketing they are doing for this film using his humor as the main theme which I think will bring in a new audience for the film. This something I have been looking forward to for a long time and when February 12th gets here I'll be the first in line.

Although we still don’t know who the Marvel character will be, the actor playing father to Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord may have just been revealed. According to The Wrap, James Gunn is keen on casting none other than Kurt Russell in the mystery role! Russell, who stars in this month’s The Hateful Eight, is no stranger to science fiction, having headlined notable genre entries such as John Carpenter’s The Thing and Roland Emmerich’s Stargate. “It’s definitely not the character who it is in the comics,” Gunn told Empire last year, knocking Spartoi emperor J’son out of the running. “I’ll say that much… There have been a lot of documents passed around about who Peter Quill’s father is between a select two or three of us. That’s been part of the plan since the beginning, that’s something I had to work out before we shot the screenplay. We wanted to make sure Yondu’s place in everything made sense and it does, so it’s all very specific stuff.” According to the initial report, Kurt Russell’s connection to the sequel is somewhat nascent. The actor has not yet read the screenplay nor has he officially met with Marvel. If all goes according to plan, however, that should be happening very soon. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast will once again feature Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper as unlikely heroes who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions.
If this comes true, then this is terrific casting. Figuring out who Star-Lord's father will be has been one of the biggest questions comic-book fans have been asking because we don't know which route the films will go. In the comics Jason of Spartax is the father to Peter Quill, but there have been a lot rumors focusing on a lot of other possibilities. Whoever Kurt Russell is as Star-Lord's father, he will bring a different dimension to the MCU and I think the banter between him and Chris Pratt will fantastic.
Although the Harry Potter spinoff is still in production, Warner Bros. Pictures today has revealed the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer, which you can check out below. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jenn Murray, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan and newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is being produced by David Heyman, producer of all eight of the blockbuster Harry Potter features; J.K. Rowling; Steve Kloves, who scripted all but one of the Harry Potter films; and Lionel Wigram, who served as an executive producer on the last four installments of the franchise. Rowling herself is supplying the screenplay. Warner Bros. Pictures has the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set for a worldwide release in 3D and IMAX on November 18, 2016.
I really enjoyed this teaser. It did a great job of introducing us to the character of Newt Scamander and giving us a little peak as to what the film will be about. It also did a nice job of teasing us with the return of the amazing wizarding world and it's something I've missed for awhile now. I think this is going to be a fantastic film and I'm looking forward to seeing how it will build towards the other films coming out in 2017 and 2018.
Take a look at the fifth installment of 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios‘ Ice Age franchise and below, you can check out the Ice Age: Collision Course trailer. You can catch the film on the big screen July 22, 2016. As you can see for yourself in the Collision Course trailer, the new film features returning cast members Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, and Jennifer Lopez. Joining the herd are Stephanie Beatriz, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rauch, Michael Strahan and even Neil deGrasse Tyson. In Collision Course, Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters. To date, the four previous Ice Age films have grossed $729.6 million domestically and more than $2.8 billion globally. The last two installments alone took in more than $850 million worldwide. Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel by which the franchise has become famously associated, made his debut this year as a balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Among those guiding the float were a number of Blue Sky crew. Scrat wasn’t the only Blue Sky character to be featured in the parade, either. As he has since 1968, Charles Schulz’s popular beagle Snoopy floated down 34th street. Blue Sky’s The Peanuts Movie, meanwhile, continues to perform at the box office. It has already grossed more than $121 million domestically.
I really enjoyed this trailer. Now I had already seen this entire trailer when it was the short film put in front of The Peanuts Movie, but they cut out a few scenes to make it into a trailer. As for the trailer I laughed quite a bit and it's hard not to when Scrat is on screen. As for the movie I don't think it'll be that great just like the other films haven't (outside of the first film anyways). I'll the give th film a shot, but not enough hope to care.
