Just revealed at the New York Comic Con, Walt Disney Pictures has brought online the teaser trailer and poster for director Brad Bird's Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.
Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (George Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as "Tomorrowland." What they must do there changes the world--and them--forever. Written by Bird and Damon Lindelof, Tomorrowland hits theaters on May 22, 2015.
This trailer was just awesome. It didn't give away to much, but it gave me enough to at least peak my interest. Ever since I heard about this film I've been looking forward to it and it's easily one of my most anticipated films of next year and cannot wait to see it.
It's easy to forget when thinking about the landscape of 2015's blockbusters that a new "Terminator" movie is on the horizon, but come next July Paramount Pictures will bring us Terminator Genisys, the start of a new trilogy of films. Speaking with a number of outlets, A Good Day to Die Hard's Jai Courtney, who takes on the Kyle Reese role in the film, talked about the upcoming project, which he says isn't exactly a sequel or a reboot. "What I can say is that we start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point," he told The Huffington Post. "It's not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don't even know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one of the early 'Terminator' movies. And it doesn't necessarily carry on from the point where we left off."
Meanwhile, in an interview with The Arnold Fans, Courtney was asked if he thought the film would be rated R, which doesn't seem likely according to the star. "I would love to see it be rated R, but I don't think it will. I think in this day & age, it's much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs. But there'll be a healthy amount of movie violence." Courtney was also asked about shooting the already-announced sequels to the film and whether franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger would return. "Hard to imagine a Terminator film without Arnold. I guess we start filming - I think the plan is do the next 2 back to back in 2016." Also starring Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith, Terminator Genisys is directed by Thor: The Dark World‘s Alan Taylor from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. It's set to hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
This is really disappointing news. I'm a huge fan of the Terminator franchise (mainly the first two films) and one of the reasons is because of the R rating. Like Courtney said It won't be a Terminator film unless it is rated R (look at Terminator: Salvation with a PG-13 rating). I can see why the studio wants a PG-13 rating, but I don't think it will please the fans.
Blue is the Warmest Color star Léa Seydoux has, according to The Daily Mail, signed on to play a femme fatale in the upcoming 24th James Bond franchise entry. According to the outlet, Seydoux will begin doing table reads with her co-stars in November and then take time to find the proper look and overall tone of her character before cameras roll in December. Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are returning for the 24th installment, which will again be directed by Skyfall helmer Sam Mendes. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will produce. Seydoux has also appeared in films like Inglourious Basterds and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. Still without an official title, Bond 24 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
This is amazing casting. Lea Seydoux is a gorgeous woman and an amazing actress. Her performance in Blue is the Warmest Color was magnificent and she fits the mold of a Bond girl so I'm be really curious to see how she does in this role.
Jennifer Jason Leigh has taken the female lead in writer/director Quentin Tarantino's soon-to-shoot The Hateful Eight. The Wrap has the news, reporting that Leigh will play Daisy Domergue opposite Zoe Bell, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, Dana Gourrier, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Denis Menochet, James Parks, James Remar, Tim Roth and Kurt Russell. Set in snowy Wyoming a few years after the Civil War, the film focuses on the tension among a group of people trapped after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route. The group includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner (Leigh) in a saloon. Preproduction is already underway in Chicago on The Hateful Eight with plans to begin shooting December 8 before taking a holiday break and resuming production in 2015.
This is really interesting casting. Jennifer Jason Leigh was a really talented actress back in the 1980's (mainly her role is Fast Times at Ridgemont High), but she really feel off the map after that. Now Tarantino is known for taking actors/actresses and reigniting their careers (i.e. John Travolta in Pulp Fiction) so with her joing the cast I think that this might do that for her. Everyone knows how big of a Tarantino fan I am and I'm excited to see this film.
Tom Hanks is still set to reprise his The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons role of Professor Robert Langdon in the upcoming Inferno, although that third franchise film will be hitting a bit later than originally planned. Originally set for release on December 18, 2015, the Ron Howard film will now be in theaters October 14, 2016.
The book itself marks the fourth novel to follow Langdon. Published in 2013, Inferno is officially described as follows: In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces... Dante’s Inferno. Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust... before the world is irrevocably altered.
The moves gets Inferno away from the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII and will instead open opposite Focus Features' A Monster Calls, directed by The Impossible helmer Juan Antonio Bayona.
This is a great move for the studio. Look I'm going to go ahead and say that if anything opens up against Star Wars Episode VII is going to get beaten down very badly at the box offcie so it's a great move to get it away from that. On the flipside however moving it almost a year back is surprising. Maybe the studio doesn't have great faith in the film and putting it on this date will help them make the most money.
So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, which of these stories peaked your interest or was there another story that interested you? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
