My Review of Happy Christmas

So I recently watched Happy Christmas and I'm here to bring you my review. Son without further ado...

Irresponsible 20-something Jenny (played by Anna Kendrick) arrives in Chicago to live with her older brother Jeff (played by Joe Swanberg), a young filmmaker living a happy existence with his novelist wife Kelly (played by Melanie Lynskey) and their two-year-old son. Jenny's arrival shakes up their quiet domesticity as she and her friend Carson (played by Lena Dunham) instigate an evolution in Kelly's life and career.

This was a really nice film. It has a really comedic cast, but they all give really great dramatic performances especially Anna Kendrick and Melanie Lynskey. All of the actors (there is a very limited amount of them) have really great chemistry with each other. Joe Swanberg (who both directs and acts in the film) does a really great job of getting everyone to work togehter and the script (which Swanberg wrote as well) just flows so well together that your focused on every detail in the film. The film has a great concept, but its been done a lot in a bunch of different movies and the film was really predictable it some points. Also the film has a very short runtime of 78 minutes and I feel like some of it was rushed just to get to a resolution. Overall the film has a lot of witty and smart dialogue with some great performances, but its an overdone concept that is sometimes too predictable. I give Happy Christmas a 7 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Happy Christmas, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
