Every year there a numerous amount of movies that come out. since 2000 there has been over 7,000 film for an average of 563 films that are released each year. However when we see a list of movies that come out each year all we really pay attention to is all of the remakes, reboots, prequels and sequels. In actuality those films only cover about 20% of the films that are release each year. Lets take a look at 2013 for example...
2013 had 676 films total be released during the year (only 282 were released worldwide). The movies that were re-released will not be counted

Out of all the films that were released worldwide 242 were original ideas while only 40 were remakes,reboots, prequels or sequels. That's about how each year pans out and the same goes for 2014 as so far we've only had 2 film that are remakes, reboots, prequels and sequels (Paranormal Activity: the Marked Ones and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit). So before we jump to conclusions, let's just take a deep breath and actually look at the list of films that are original ideas.
