So I recently watched The Lazarus Effect and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
A team of ambitious medical professionals have found a way to bring dead patients back to life using a serum code-named "Lazarus". After several successful tests are done on animals, Zoe (played by Olivia Wilde), one of the lead researchers, dies in a lab accident. In desperation, the rest of the team uses "Lazarus" to bring her back to life and they're successful. When she begins to display "unusual" abilities, the team realizes that their attempt to resurrect the dead may have opened the door to unfathomable evil.
This is a pretty terrible film. It has a very interesting premise, but we've seen it done before and it becomes way too predictable. The cast in the film is amazing and they do very well with a poorly written script. The two standouts of the film are Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass who work extremely well togehter. The film also suffers from my biggest pet peeve when it comes to horror films and that's that it is coming out at the tail end of February! The film does take awhile to get going, but once things start to get really interesting the film ends and that's attributed to the fact the film is 83 minutes long and it feels rushed. Overall the film wastes the talented cast and doesn't have a lot of things to keep your interest the entire time. I give The Lazarus Effect a 1 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Lazarus Effect, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
