My Review of Cinderella (1950)

With the live-action Cinderella remake set to hit theaters this weekend I thought it would be appropriate to review the one film that started it all Cinderella (1950). So without further ado...

Cinderella (voiced by Ilene Woods), treated as a slavey by her selfish stepfamily, dreams of going to the Prince's ball. She gets her wish courtesy of her Fairy Godmother (voiced by Verna Felton), who does the pumpkin-into-coach bit, then delivers the requisite "be home by midnight" warning. Thoroughly enchanting the prince (voiced by William Phipps) at the ball, our heroine hightails it at midnight, leaving a glass slipper behind.

This is a magnificent film. It has such beautiful and flawless animation and it has so much heart that it could possibly make you cry. It has a lot of really catchy songs that will stick with you long after you watch the film. This film is the film that saved The Walt Disney Company after WWII and if this film had not been successful then Disney may not be around today. I also do like the voice acting and I know you can get any Joe Schmoe to voice act, but these characters are brought to life through the voice cast. I will say that while the animation is beautiful it's not as up to par as the other Disney animated films. Overall this is a fantastic movie that is a true cinematic classic. I give Cinderella (1950) a 9.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what do you think of Cinderella (1950), what would you rate it, are you excited for Cinderella (2015) and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
