3-31-15 Movie News

Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)

Warner Bros. Pictures has just delivered the full trailer for the highly-anticipated Mad Max: Fury Road! Co-written and directed by George Miller, Mad Max: Fury Road stars Tom Hardy as “Mad” Max Rockatansky, the character played by Mel Gibson in Miller’s original The Road Warrior, Mad Max and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and you can check out the trailer below. Mad Max: Fury Road offers post-apocalyptic action set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There’s Max (Hardy), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos and Furiosa (Charlize Theron), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland. Also starring Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Hugh Keays-Byrne (Mad Max, Sleeping Beauty), Nathan Jones (Conan the Barbarian, Troy), Zoe Kravitz (Divergent, X-Men: First Class), Riley Keough (The Runaways, Magic Mike) and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Mad Max: Fury Road opens in 2D and 3D theaters on May 15, 2015.

This was an awesome trailer. It was full of action and we finally got hear Tom Hardy speak just a little bit. It also showed us a little more of the film and the film has still yet to deliver the full story other than the fact that it takes place after Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. The trailer got me even more excited than I already was and I cannot wait to see it.

Stephen Amell, best known for playing Oliver Queen on The CW’s hit DC Comics series “Arrow,” appears to be taking a quick detour from Starling City to the Big Apple. According to Variety, Amell has just joined the cast of Paramount Pictures and Platninum Dunes’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 where he’ll be playing a different masked vigilante, Casey Jones! Created by Kevin Eastman, Jones first appeared in a 1985 “Raphael” miniseries, published by Mirage Studios. A hockey-mask wearing vigilante, Jones becomes an ally of the turtles and a love interest for April O’Neil. Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form will return to produce the upcoming sequel which features a script by returning screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and AndrĂ© Nemec. Megan Fox will reprise her role of April O’Neil along with William Fichtner as Eric Sacks. The original film also starred Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub. It grossed more than $485 million at the worldwide box office. Though unconfirmed, previous reports on the sequel have alluded to the inclusion of the likes of Bebop and Rocksteady or even the interdimensional Krang as potential villains. Set to be directed by Earth to Echo‘s David Green, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set for release on June 3, 2016.

This is terrific casting. While Stephen Amell isn't the greatest actor in the world, but I've only seen in him in Arrow and that's such a small sample size. Off topic, but if you haven't watched Arrow yet then stop reading and watch the first two seasons on Netflix because even if you don't like superheros or comics that much, you will still enjoy it. As for him playing Casey Jones I think it's great for both parties. On his side he gets a little more exposure and on the other side a lot of the fanboys who hated the first film will come check out Stephen Amell and see how he portrays the character. I think he's a great fit and I can't wait to see the film.

It appears that there are now two competing feature films on the way based on the fatal Boston Marathon bombing that occurred nearly two years ago. Deadline today brings word that, in addition to 20th Century Fox’s Boston Strong, CBS Films is developing Patriot’s Day with Mark Wahlberg looking to star as Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. According to the outlet, Patriot’s Day will relate the tragedy and ensuing manhunt through Davis’ perspective with Bridge of Spies scribe Matt Charman providing the screenplay based on both Davis’ own accounts of events and on research provided by “60 Minutes.” Boston Strong, meanwhile, is set to be directed by Safe House‘s Daniel Espinosa and has Casey Affleck attached to headline. Oddly enough, Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy, two of the three writers behind Wahlberg’s Oscar-winning boxing drama The Fighter, are working on the rival project, based on the book by Casey Sherman and Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge. Wahlberg, who recently starred in both The Gambler and Transformers: Age of Extinction, will next reprise his role as John Bennett in writer/director/star Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2. Wahlberg also plans to produce Patriot’s Day alongside Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson and Michael Radutzky and Scott Stuber. Nicholas Nesbitt will serve as executive producer.

I'm not really surprised by this. As for there being two films based on the Boston marathon tragedy it's the case of two films that are the same like Armageddon and Deep Impact or Volcano and Dante's Peek. The fact that both stars of each film are from the Boston area, but the key difference between the films is who the perspective is coming from. One comes from a journalist's perspective while the other comes from a police commissioner. I think this is a really great idea and I can't wait to see both films.

Following the two new cast members revealed yesterday, TheWrap reports that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (who took on the role of Kurse in Thor: The Dark World, “LOST”) is set to play Killer Croc in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad. He joins a cast that includes Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Raymond Olubowale and Scott Eastwood. Created by Gerry Conway and Gene Colan in the early ’80s, Killer Croc’s real name is Waylon Jones. He was born with a medical condition that likens his appearance to a crocodile as he ages. A frequent Batman villain, Croc is notable for killing the parents of Jason Todd, which set him on the path to becoming the second Robin. Originally created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru back in 1959, the Suicide Squad was retooled into its current iteration as villains working off their sentence by John Ostrander. The team has included countless DC villains (and heroes) among its ranks throughout the years. It’s also been a staple of recent DC media. “Arrow” introduced their own version of the team in the most recent season of the series and the recent animated film, Batman: Assault on Arkham, offered another version of the team. Written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad will begin production next month and hits theaters on August 5, 2016.

This is pretty decent casting. I haven't seen him in a lot of films other than Thor: The Dark World and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, but from what I've seen he's very talented and I think he can pull this off. He is 47 years old which kind of concerns me, but I don't think that will a huge problem. I'm a huge fan of Killer Croc and 'm glad he is finally getting a chance to be on the big screen which could eventually lead to him being in a solo Batman film down the line.

20th Century Fox and MGM have released, via Fandango, a new poster for their upcoming Poltergeist remake that puts the new version of the franchise’s iconic clown doll front and center and you can check it below. Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Evil Dead, The Grudge) and director Gil Kenan (Monster House) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever. Written by David Lindsay-Abaire, Poltergeist boasts an impressive cast, including Sam Rockwell (The Way, Way Back, Iron Man 2), Rosemarie DeWitt (Kill the Messenger, The Odd Life of Timothy Green), Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, “Mad Men”), Saxon Sharbino (Trust Me, “Touch”), and Jane Adams (“Hung,” Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), along with 8-year-old Kennedi Clements as Madison, a play on the iconic Carol Anne (Heather O’Rourke) from the Tobe Hooper original. Produced by Steven Spielberg, the original Poltergeist hit theaters in 1982 and was followed by Poltergeist II: The Other Side in 1986 and Poltergeist III in 1988. Poltergeist is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2015.

Poltergeist

This is a pretty creepy poster. Now look for those of you that know me pretty well then you know that I absolutely hate clowns. They terrify me to the highest degree and that's why I can barely watch the original film and this clown looks creepier than the original one. I really enjoy the very first film (the other are terrible) and I'm looking forward to seeing how this film will live up to the original.

                                                                                                                                         Jonah Sparks

My Review of Serena

So I recently watched Serena and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado............

Serenaposter.jpg

The North Carolina mountains at the end of the 1920s - George and Serena Pemberton (played by Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence respectively), love-struck newly-weds, begin to build a timber empire. Serena soon proves herself to be equal to any man: overseeing loggers, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving a man's life in the wilderness. With power and influence now in their hands, the Pembertons refuse to let anyone stand in the way of their inflated love and ambitions. However, once Serena discovers George's hidden past and faces an unchangeable fate of her own, the Pemberton's passionate marriage begins to unravel leading toward a dramatic reckoning.

This film is just absolutely terrible. Look Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are two of the most talented actors on the planet and they both have been nominated for numerous Academy Awards with Lawrence winning one. They have done some great films together like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, but this film is not one of them. They look so lost and confused on-screen together and the film is just really boring. It's set in the 1920's which to me is one of the most boring and depressing periods (no pun intended towards The Great Depression) in the history of American. I thought the whole premise was just stupid. Overall the film has no redeeming qualities and it is a film that nobody will ever remember and thankfully that is the case. I give Serena a 0 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Serena, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.

3-30-15 Movie News

Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)

As production nears, Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad has enlisted two more cast members for the film. The Toronto Sun reports that boxer Raymond Olubowale (who also appeared in two “Resident Evil” films as the “Axeman”) will appear in the film, and eTalk reveals that Scott Eastwood (son of Clint) has a role as well. It’s unclear who either will be playing in the film. Written and directed by Ayer, Suicide Squad is set to star Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. The film will hit theaters on August 5, 2016. Originally created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru back in 1959, the group was retooled into its current iteration as villains working off their sentence by John Ostrander. The team has included countless DC villains (and heroes) among its ranks throughout the years. It’s also been a staple of recent DC media. “Arrow” introduced their own version of the team in the most recent season of the series and the recent animated film, Batman: Assault on Arkham, offered another version of the team.

This is pretty interesting casting. These are two relatively unknown actors and I think this is what the film needs. I think they'll have pretty small parts and not very important parts. They'll probably be Arkham inmates something director David Ayer teased over the weekend. This film shaping up to be really great and I can't wait to see the film.

Following the first official photo that debuted last week, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds posted a new picture on his Twitter showing off his “guns” for the role. In addition, a user asked if the film would be rated R or PG-13, to which Reynolds responded: “I want Deadpool to be R. Always have. Fighting the good fight still. Lotta yelling today.” Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Ryan Reynolds will star in the title role of the film along with Ed Skrein, TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, and Morena Baccarin as Copycat. The film will also feature the mutant Colossus, though Daniel Cudmore has confirmed he will not appear as the character. Tim Miller is set to direct the movie from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool is currently scheduled for a release on February 12, 2016.

I completely agree with Reynolds on this. Deadpool is an R rated character in the comics and he is a violent one at that. I still think the film can work with a PG-13 rating and it just won't be the same character without an R rating, but I can see why the studio will probably go with an PG-13 rating. I've been looking forward to this film for a really long time and I can't wait to see it next February.

Another live-action take on a Walt Disney Pictures animated feature is on the way today as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that plans are underway for a new big screen take on Mulan! Mulan, released by the studio in 1998, adapted the ancient Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, a female warrior who disguises herself as a man in order to take the place of her aging father in the military. Disney has had quite a lot of success lately with live-action versions of some of its animated classics. Currently in theaters, Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella has already grossed more than $335 million worldwide. It was recently preceded by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (a quasi-sequel to the 1951 animated feature) and Robert Stromberg’s Maleficent (a retelling of 1959’s Sleeping Beauty). On the way soon are also Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book (arriving April 15, 2016), Beauty and the Beast (March 17, 2017) and, currently without a release date, Tim Burton’s Dumbo. There’s also an Alice in Wonderland sequel, Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, that is being directed by The Muppets‘ James Bobin and is set to arrive May 27, 2016. Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin are providing the screenplay for Mulan, which has Chris Bender and J.C. Spink attached to produce.

This news isn't that surprising. After the recent box office success of Maleficent and the critical/financial success of Cinderella, this film is no surprise. The animated film was a huge financial success and I expect this live-action remake to do just the same. I'm really interested in who they get to play Mulan and to voice Mushu.

Deadline reports that writer Jay Basu, who is helping Universal with their monster-focused cinematic universe, has been tapped by Sony Pictures to write their adaptation of Metal Gear Solid. The Konami video game series follows Solid Snake, a retired soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons disposal facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from Foxhound, a renegade special forces unit. He attempts to liberate their two hostages, the head of DARPA and the president of a major arms manufacturer, and stops the terrorists from launching a nuclear strike. Created by Hideo Kojima, the series has produced 10 games in the franchise and sold over 30 million copies. Spider-Man‘s Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad are attached to produce with The Kings of Summer and Kong: Skull Island‘s Jordan Vogt-Roberts set to direct.

This is a pretty interesting choice. First off I just want to say that I am glad to see that this film is finally getting made. The one thing I'm curious about is the writer himself. He hasn't done much and what he has done has been mostly small budget B and C level movies. I'm interested to see his take on the film and I'm really curious to see who they get to play Solid Snake.

Bob and Harvey Weinstein announced today that they have acquired the mining drama Gold, inspired by the true story about the 1993 Bre-X Mineral Corporation mining scandal wherein large amounts of gold were reportedly discovered in the Indonesian jungle. The film will be released under their TWC-Dimension banner. Directed by Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana), Gold stars Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club) as a failing businessman and prospector that teams up with a luckless geologist/explorer played by Edgar Ramirez (Zero Dark Thirty, Deliver Us From Evil). The duo heads into the Indonesian jungle on the trail of undiscovered gold. Written by Patrick Massett & John Zinman, Gold is being produced and financed by Black Bear Pictures. Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game) will produce alongside Hwy61’s Michael Nozik (Quiz Show, Syriana), Massett, Zinman and McConaughey. Hwy61 partner Paul Haggis (Crash) will executive produce with Richard Middleton (Hitchcock, The Artist) and Black Bear’s Ben Stillman. “We are beyond thrilled to partner with the Weinsteins on ‘Gold,’ and so appreciate their tremendous passion for this film,” said Schwarzman and Nozik. “Harvey and I were so intrigued by the unique and compelling story behind ‘Gold’ and couldn’t be more excited to work with this highly esteemed group of filmmakers and artists,’ adds Bob Weinstein. “We loved working with Teddy on ‘The Imitation Game’ and we see this movie having the potential to be both a commercial and artistic success.”

This is really great to here. First off the cast is really impressive so far and I hope they are able to add more talent. As for the film itself it sounds really interesting and it could very well be an Oscar contender. The Weinstein's are known for producing Oscar-caliber movies and this could be another one. I love the cast and the film sounds so great and I can't wait to see it.

Weekend Movie News 3-27-15 to 3-29-15

Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)

While filming continues for the 24th James Bond adventure, EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony Pictures Entertainment have released the teaser trailer for Spectre which you can watch below! Also, be sure to check out the report on our Spectre set visit in Mexico City! Directed by the Academy Award winning Sam Mendes (Skyfall, American Beauty), Spectre stars Daniel Craig (Casino Royale, Munich), Ben Wishaw (Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, I’m Not There), Naomie Harris (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, 28 Weeks Later), Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Invisible Woman), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds), Monica Bellucci (Irreversible, Malena), David Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Man with the Iron Fists), LĂ©a Seydoux (Inglourious Basterds, Blue is the Warmest Color), Stephanie Sigman (Miss Bala, Pioneer), Andrew Scott (Locke, “Sherlock”) and Rory Kinnear (Quantum of Solace, The Imitation Game). In the movie, a cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE. SPECTRE (SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), as Bond fans know, is a fictional global terrorist organization featured in Ian Fleming’s novels, as well as the films and video games based on those novels. The organization was led by the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, although the cast is definitely playing it coy about whether or not Blofeld will actually appear in the new film. Spectre, written by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, hits theaters and IMAX on November 6, 2015.

This was an awesome teaser. It had everything you could ever want in a Bond trailer and it teased you hardcore. It showed a shadowy figure at the end which was Christoph Waltz's character, but I'm glad they didn't show us his look becuase they may have something cool in store for us. If he doesn't have something wrong with his face then I will be highly disappointed. I loved the trailer and I cannot wait to see this film.

Oscar-winning rapper/songwriter Eminem has revealed the new trailer for the boxing redemption drama Southpaw, from director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) and starring Academy Award-nominated Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain). Eminem was originally attached to play the lead in the movie, but despite dropping out of the project he will be providing new music previewed in the trailer, which you can check out below. Billy “The Great” Hope (Gyllenhaal) is the reigning Junior Middleweight Champion with a beautiful family, home and financial security until a tragic accident leaves his wife dead and sends him into a downward spiral. His days now an endless haze of alcohol and prescription drugs, his daughter taken by Child Services and his home repossessed by the bank, Billy’s fate is all but sealed until a washed up former boxer named Tick (Academy Award-winner Forest Whitaker) agrees to take the bereaved pugilist under his wing so long as he agrees to his strict ethos. Now, as he works to regain custody of his daughter and mounts a professional comeback, Billy must face his demons head-on as he learns that, sometimes, your greatest opponent can be yourself. Southpaw also co-stars Rachel McAdams, Rita Ora, Naomie Harris, Tyrese Gibson Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and boxer-turned-actor Victor Ortiz. It is written by Kurt Sutter (“Sons of Anarchy”) and Richard Wenk (The Equalizer), and will be released by The Weinstein Company on July 31.

This was an intense trailer. When I first heard about the film I was mildly interested, until I saw a photo of Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of the film and he looked amazing. Now that I've seen the trailer I may move bump the film up in my most anticipated films for the 2nd half of 2015. From the looks of the trailer this could very well be Jake Gyllenhaal's greatest performance and he can easily get an Oscar nomination. I'm excited for this and I can't wait to see it.

Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, has taken to Twitter to debut an incredible reveal – the full suit from the upcoming movie and you can check it out below. The official synopsis for the film has also been revealed and reads as follows: Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool.

Deadpool

This is a really cool picture. It fits the character of Deadpool in every way possible. I also really love the costume because we finally get to see Deadpool with a real outfit instead of the crap he wore and didn't wear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I've been waiting for this film for a long time and I cannot wait to see it.

Despite saying a month ago that he wants to continue playing the character until he dies, Hugh Jackman revealed a cryptic teaser on his Instagram today with the caption “Wolverine… One Last Time” with three of his signature claws extended.

Previous reports on a third solo Wolverine film indicate that it won’t begin production until next year, meaning this photo could be Jackman refuting rumors that he will appear in next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse, though this remains unconfirmed. Jackman has appeared as the character in every “X-Men” film to date, from being the focus of 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine to just a cameo in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. His career as the character has lasted seven films over the course of 14 years. Writer David James Kelly is currently penning the screenplay for the third “Wolverine,” which according to Patrick Stewart could see Logan and Professor Xavier teaming up. Currently without an official title, Wolverine 3 is set for a release on March 3, 2017 with James Mangold directing once again.

I knew those comments were complete bs. Look Hugh Jackman can talk all he wants to about wanting to play Wolverine til he dies, but I've known for a long time that this would be his last film. The comments he made were in a sarcastic tone that got taken seriously. I would love for Jackman to keep playing the character, but we all know he can't. I'm excited to see on the big screen as Wolverine again in both X-Men: Apocalypse and in The Wolverine 3.

There’s a lot of excitement building for Denzel Washington’s third movie with Training Day director Antoine Fuqua, a remake of the Western The Magnificent Seven, which reunites him with Training Day‘s Oscar-nominated supporting actor Ethan Hawke, joined by Chris Pratt and the recently-announced Vincent D’Onofrio. The movie hasn’t started filming yet, but Sony has already set their sights on a release date according to ERC Box Office, and the plan is to release it on MLK Jr. weekend, January 13, 2017. This would have it being released on the same weekend as Denzel’s hit action-thriller The Book of Eli, directed by the Hughes Brothers, which opened with $38 million over the four-day holiday on its way to $94.8 million. It was one of Denzel’s biggest openings at the time, following Ridley Scott’s American Gangster, although he has gone on to have other similar hits with Safe House and last year’s Fuqua-directed The Equalizer, which grossed more than $100 million after opening in September. Since only four male actors have been announced for the movie, we have to assume we’ll hear who will play the other three Magnificent 7 sometime before the movie starts shooting in Louisiana in mid-May. The original 1960 movie, a remake itself of the Akira Kurosawa samurai film Seven Samurai, starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn and Eli Wallach.

This is a really interesting release date. I say that because I figured it would come out around September that way it could try to get Oscar exposure and I still might, but I highly doubt it. The cast for the film so far is pretty fantastic and there is still more to be done. I love the original film and I'm really looking forward to this remake.

My Review of Home (2015)

So I recently watched Home (2015) and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Home (2015 film) poster.jpg

When Oh (voiced by Jim Parsons), a loveable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip (voiced by Rihanna) who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

This was such a stupid film. I don't know what is wrong with DreamWorks, but they have put a lot of crap out since the Shrek series ended (other than Puss in Boots) and this goes right into to pile of crap. I mean the company is slowly losing money and they had to get 20th Century Fox to distribute the film. Look I know the film isn't targeted towards me, but most young animated comedies have some subtle adult humor just to keep their attention and this film doesn't have that. The story itself is full of cliches that have been so overused that I am sick of it. he voice cast is actually pretty great, but they all voice characters that have played in other films of tv shows or how they portray themselves in real life. It does have heart-whelming moments, but it's not enough for me to care about the film. Overall this a film that kids might enjoy, but it's not enough to keep someone's attention. I give Home (2015) a 1.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Home (2015), what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.

My Review of Get Hard

So I recently watched Get Hard and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado........

Get Hard film poster.png

A wrongfully convicted investment banker (played by Will Ferrell) prepares for prison life with the help of the man (played by Kevin Hart) who washes his car.

This film was such a disappointment. Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell are the two funniest actors on the planet and when you put them together you expect a decent film with some great comedy, but this film doesn't give you that. The film is full of comedic cliches that we've seen time and time again, it's predictable from the very beginning and there are not of really good gut-busting jokes. I will say that I did giggle a little at some of them, but nothing really stood out to me. Overall this was another bland comedy with no stand-out jokes. I give Get Hard a 1 out of 10.

My Top 10 Actor Choices Who I Want to play James Bond

The first Spectre trailer was released last night and over the past year or so a lot of people have speculated who they think will be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig. Now Craig does have at least one more movie left as Bond so it's ok to start speculating who is going to take over the mantle. Plus it's also good to think that the new Bond probably won't be announced until 2019. With that being said I'm going to bring you my top 10 actor choices to play James Bond and I'm also going to list their age because that plays a big factor into who might get the part.. So without further ado...

10. Jon Hamm    Age: 44    Age by 2019: 48
Jon Hamm at PaleyFest 2014.jpg

This is a way outta left field choice. I only say that because Hamm is American and I don't know if people would go for an American playing Britain's greatest spy. He does have experience with the persona of Bond from working on Mad Men. Look I love Hamm as an actor (heck he was my number one choice to play Batman), but I don't know if he's ready to take on a role like this.

        Likelihood: 3 out of 10

9. Tom Hardy    Age: 37    Age by 2019: 41
Tom Hardy Locke Premiere.jpg

If it were announced today that Tom Hardy was the next Bond I would be perfectly ok with it. Tom Hardy is one of the best actors in the world and I think he has the persona to take on a role like this. He's does plenty of action franchise in the past so I don't know if he wants to do another one in the past. He seems like he is wanting more Oscar-worthy roles like the roles in The Revenant or in the Elton John bio-pic Rocketman.

        Likelihood: 6 out of 10

8. Andrew Lincoln    Age: 41    Age by 2019: 45
Andrew Lincoln October 2014.jpg

This would be a really interesting choice. Of course we all know Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead, but he has had a successful film career as well (most notable film would be Love Actually). He's at the right age to take on a franchise of his own and a lot of people seem to like him. The only thing that could hinder that would be his commitment to The Walking Dead because he's not made a film since he started the show back in 2010 and he may not be that well-known around the world.

        Likelihood: 4 out of 10

7. Jack O'Connell    Age: 24    Age by 2019: 28
Jack O'Connell 2014 (cropped).jpg

This would be another interesting choice. Granted O'Connell hasn't done much other than staring in last year's Unbroken, but he is one of the best actors under 25. He hasn't done many action movies, but it's ok for every actor to step of their comfort zone and just try new things. The only thing that would stop him from getting the role is his age. He's way too young to play bond and it would only work if they did another reboot of the franchise.

        Likelihood: 5 out of 10

6. Guy Pearce    Age: 47    Age by 2019: 51
Guy Pearce Cannes 2012.jpg

Guy Pearce would be a great Bond. He (along with the next guy on the list) is a very talented and very underrated actor. He hasn't really been apart of franchise for the long haul and I just don't know if he wants to take on a role like this. Another problem that would really push him down the list is his age. He's 47 and that's way too old to start this type of franchise. Daniel Craig himself just now turned 47 as well and he's on his 4th Bond film so there's the difference between these two. If Pearce had gotten the role when he was 37 then we would be having the same conversation about Craig taking over

        Likelihood: 4 out of 10

5. Jason Issacs    Age: 51    Age by 2019: 55
Jason Isaacs 2014.jpg

This is one of the most unlikely choices on this list. As I said before with Guy Pearce, Jason Issacs is such a talented actor and he is vastly underrated. He's given a lot of great performances and never gotten the recognition that he deserves. He is however very unlikely to get the role simply because of his age. He's 51 and a lot of Bond fans don't like actors playing Bond into their 50's (Roger Moore is an example) so that will be the main reason why he won't get the part.

        Likelihood: 3 out of 10

4. Benedict Cumberbatch    Age: 38    Age by 2019: 42

This choice has been gaining a lot of momentum here lately and for good reason. Cumbetbatch is one of the best actors in the business and he's been rumored for every movie possible. He's the perfect age for the part (he's only 38), he's well liked and he's not very many action films and this would be a great fit. The one thing that may hurt him is that he's now locked into a contract with Marvel to play Doctor Strange and I honestly don't know if he'll have time to do a Bond film.

        Likelihood: 7 out of 10

3. Chris Hemsworth    Age: 31    Age by 2019: 35
Chris Hemsworth SDCC 2014 (cropped).jpg

This is a choice that I would be really ok with. Chris Hemsworth is a talented actor and to be honest a lot of the women really like him so he's got the looks for the part. He's also very young and athletic and that's a lot of qualities you need in a Bond. The problem is that I don't think people will actually believe he's the guy that is supposed to continue on the franchise and him being 16 years younger than out current Bond. But one thing that is going in his favor is that he is almost done with his Marvel contract (if he doesn't extend it) so he'll have some free time by 2019.

        Likelihood: 6 out of 10

2. Henry Cavil    Age: 31    Age by 2019: 35
Henry Cavill 2014 Comic Con (cropped).jpg

This guy was actually supposed to be James Bond. A lof people don't realize that with Casino Royale being a soft reboot of the franchise and it's supposed to show a younger version of Bond, Cavill was a prime contender for the role until it went to Daniel Craig. Just like Hemsworth they have the age continuity problem, but Cavill is also going to be heavily involved with the DCCU as Superman so he's not going to have a lot of time to carry two huge franchises.

        Likelihood: 6 out of 10

1. Idris Elba    Age: 42    Age by 2019: 46
Idris Elba 2014.jpg

I think this everybody's number one choice. Idris Elba is a very talented actor and he has the real life persona of being James Bond. Now one of the big thing's that detracts people from this is that he is Black. Honestly the character is bigger than the actor and I just have one question? Does him being black have any effect on how good of an actor he is or how good he would be in the part. I would love it for Sony to take a stand and choose Idris Elba as the next Bond.

        Likelihood: 9 out of 10
