My Review of The Program (2016)

So I recently watched The Program (2016) and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Irish sports journalist David Walsh (played by Chris O'Dowd) becomes convinced that Lance Armstrong's performances during the Tour de France victories are fueled by banned substances. With this conviction, he starts hunting for evidence that will expose Armstrong (played by Ben Foster).

This was a really interesting film. At one point in time Lance Armstrong was one of the most revered athletes in sports history mainly due to his recovery from testicular cancer and him winning 7 straight Tour de France's. He began building off of his image and success by lying to people after being caught and involved with one of the more major athletic drug scandals of all-time. The film does a great job of portraying the events that played out throughout the entire scandal. Ben Foster does an amazing job of playing Lance Armstrong and he seriously proves that the is the best actor that nobody talks about and people defiantly should. The one problem with portraying these events is that you have to add something new that a lot of people knew about and the film fails to do that and if you know the whole story then you'll get a pretty boring and slow-burning film, but if you don't then you'll get a great political sports bio-pic thriller. With it being a bio-pic you need to learn more about the main figure and you really don't and you don't learn the motivation for doing what he did. Overall this is a great look at one of biggest investigations in sports history and it's well acted, but it fails to add anything new and the film drags on for far too long. I give The Program (2016) a 4 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Program (2016), what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
