My Review of Gods of Egypt

So I recently watched Gods of Egypt and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Against a backdrop of Egyptian pyramids, an ensemble cast of Egyptian gods and humans on differing scales pose.

The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (played by Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, a defiant mortal named Bek (played by Brenton Thwaites) forms an unlikely alliance with the powerful god Horus (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.

This might be the worst film in the history of film. You know when those films that come out and when you see the trailer you ask yourself "how bad can this film be"?. This is that type of film and by the time you walk out of the theater you ask yourself "my lord what did I just watch"?. This film is just an utter disaster from the very beginning and you can tell that none of the actors throughout the film want to be in this movie. The story is possibly one of the more confusing and ridiculous stories that has been in the big screen and that's saying a lot compared to the other films that have come out in recent years that been ridiculously stupid. The film has a lot of CGI which is expected to help make some of the more menacing figures look decent, but the CGI in the film looks like it was done by third graders and when you have a film with a lot of CGI you need to put forth some effort to make it look presentable and none of the visuals are even close to being stunning. The performances are of course terrible and it's not the fault of the actors, but due to the directing of Alex Proyas and he tries so hard to make something that doesn't seem interesting at least a tad bit interesting, but the script he had to work with just doesn't fit his style and while the writing is the main problem the failure of a film always falls back to the director. Overall this film is just an absolute disaster and a complete mess that just doesn't work at all. I give Gods of Egypt a 0 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Gods of Egypt, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
