My Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2

So I recently watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Spider-Man upside down on the side of the OsCorp tower.

It's great to be Spider-Man (played by Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (played by Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (played by Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (played by Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

I was highly disappointed with the film. I thought the film was a complete mess, predictable and was rushed. There are like 6 small stories making one big film and it was jumpy and all over the place. Also the tone of the film is bad because you don't actually know which tone the filmmakers wanted to go with, it went form romance to action to comedy to drama to mystery and it was just overly confusing. The dialogue is very corny and cheesy some of the scenes were just a little over the top. Plus there are a lot very unnecessary things such as the character of the Rhino. But the one thing that really hurt the film was the completely unnecessary over the top marketing for the film, its Spider-Man you don't need much marketing after all four previous films have been financially successful and the over marketing made everything predictable (plus if you know the comics then you know some of things that will happen in the film). One final negative is that the film is pretty much a 2 1/2 hour advertisement for the upcoming Sinister Six film and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4. Now I will say that I absolutely loved the acting and now Andrew Garfield has fully convinced me that he is the best Spider-Man/Peter Parker. I also liked the chemistry that the cast had between each other and you can really tell that they played off each other's strengths. I would also like to add the Dane DeHann is one great actor and he completely owns the role of Harry Osborn and ultimately steals the show. Some of the action sequences are top notch, the visual effects are amazing (no pun intended) and I really enjoyed the score. Overall though the film is very sloppy, rushed and suffers from an identity crisis so I'm going to give The Amazing Spider-Man 2 a 4.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
