My Review of The Star

So I recently watched The Star and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.........

In Sony Pictures Animation's The Star, a small but brave donkey named Bo (played by Steven Yeun) yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth (played by Aidy Bryant), a loveable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave (played by Keegan-Michael Key), a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels (played by Tracey Morgan, Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey) and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become accidental heroes in the greatest story ever told - the first Christmas.

This is truly a very a heart-warming film. No matter what you beliefs are, this is a film you should defiantly watch and it's a film that takes a much different approach then you would think and brings this story to life from a new perspective. Unlike most faith-based films, it doesn't beat you over the head with religious themes are tries really hard to be a film enjoyable for everyone. The animation is pretty decent especially from a studio like Sony Animation that hasn't done the greatest work in the world, but this looks like a step in the right direction and the voice talents are just as amazing and each actor just brings their respective characters to life and you really connect with them in a lot of different ways. The film is made for directly for kids and some of them will care because of several jokes or character designs, but some won't due to the fact that the film might be too kid friendly for certain children to keep them entertained. As mentioned before, the plot is is a story we've all heard growing up so in a way this is a film that didn't need to be made becasue the story has been told so many times and it's a story that you can find out more about without having to pay any money. Overall this is a film that you should defiantly take your kids to see especially if you don't want to introduce them to the bible just yet, but for everyone else, this is a film that you can save your money not seeing because it's a story you can simply read about, but there are some nice voice talents and decent animation and it can be a fun time if you want to see the story from a different perspective. I give The Star a 5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Star, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
