My Review of The Theory of Everything

So I recently watched The Theory of Everything and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Once a healthy, active young man, Stephen Hawking (played by Eddie Redmayne) received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With his beloved Jane (played by Felicity Jones) fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of - time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.

This was a really powerful film. The thing that really stands out is the performances by the two leads. Eddie Redmayne gives the performance of his career and portrays Hawking so amazingly good that he is a lock for an Academy Award nomination as well as Felicity Jones who just brings so much light to the darkest parts (and by dark I mean like two parts) of the film. The film also explains a lot of Hawking's concepts and they are easy to follow which will really help people who don't completely understand what Hawking did. It also isn't your typical bio-pic and really has a lot of smooth transitions that make the film easy to follow. The main problem I have with the film is that is is full of happy moments and nobody has a perfect and happy life especially Stephen Hawking and I really wanted to see those dark parts and how Hawking was able to go through them with his disease. Overall the film has the best 1-2 punch in a film this year, but a lot of predictable moments and not enough darkness really harms the film. I give The Theory of Everything a 9 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Theory of Everything, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
