Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

Although plans are still underway for Alcon Entertainment to bring to the big screen a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner, Scott today reveals to Variety that he is no longer targeting the director’s chair. Having already helped develop the screenplay alongside Hampton Fancher (who, with David Peoples, wrote the original film), Scott remains very active in the sequel’s development, but now says his plan is to serve only as producer with a helmer expected to be announced in the near future. “We talked at length about what it could be,” Scott tells the trade of the sequel’s story, “and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline.” The project, which is planned to go into production next year, should feature the return of Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard. Scott has a few potential spoilers, too, regarding Deckard’s specific role in the story. “Harrison is very much part of this one,” Scott continues, “But it’s really about finding him. He comes in in the third act.”
This is exciting news to hear. Now granted nothing official has come from Warner Bros. about the sequel, but I have no doubt that they confirm something very soon. I'm also kind of glad Ridley Scott isn't directing this simply because his recent track record hasn't been the greatest, but there is hope for Exodus: Gods & Kings and if that does well then I'll start believing in him again. I'm a huge fan of the original Blade Runner and I've been dying for a sequel for a really long time.
After switching studios from Sony to Universal and leading men from Christian Bale to Michael Fassbender, the Steve Jobs biopic continues full speed ahead as Deadline reports that Oscar-winner Natalie Portman has boarded the film. While the article makes no claims as to who the actress is playing, it would be hard to imagine it is anyone other than the Apple head honcho’s daughter, Lisa Bennan-Jobs . Steve Jobs initially denied his paternity of Lisa, all the while naming one of Apple’s earliest computers–the Apple Lisa–after her. The two reconnected years later and Jobs paid for her to attend Harvard University, coincidentally around the same time that Portman called that school her alma matter. Portman recently completed her feature directorial debut A Tale of Love and Darkness and starring in the western Jane Got a Gun. She is also expected to reprise her role as Jane Foster in 2017′s Thor: Ragnarok. Based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography “Steve Jobs,” Universal’s currently untitled Jobs movie will be written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, while Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady produce.
This is pretty great casting. Natalie Portman is an Academy Award winning actress and casting her in anything is a great idea. She also looks like Lisa Jobs and I think that she is a perfect fit. This film has done some pretty great casting so far and hopefully they lock down Fassbender for Steve Jobs.
As James Cameron tinkers away in New Zealand on Avatar 2, 3 and 4, he took the time to talk to Empire about the three back-to-back sequels that are expected to head into production imminently for release in 2016, ’17 and ’18, and he seemed rather pumped about what he has in store. “I can tell you one thing about them,” Cameron laughs. “They’re gonna be bitchin’. You will sh*t yourself with your mouth wide open.” Never one to rest on his laurels, the director had originally intended to shoot the new movies at 60 frames-per-second, but now it seems he’s switched gears on that front due to the fact that 48 FPS has already been somewhat established with The Hobbit movies. “My thinking at the time was that 60 [FPS] might be a better segue to the video market,” he says. “I’ll be plugging into a system that’s a little more mature, so it makes sense for me to do 48 frames at this point.”
These are some pretty cocky comments. Look if you have the abilities, the expertise and the filmography that Cameron has then its ok to be cocky every now and then. All I can say is that with these films taking so long they better be as good as Cameron is talking them up to be. I really enjoyed Avatar for what is was worth (eventhough it ripped off a few other films), but I'm really excited to be visiting Pandora once again
Few people in Hollywood spin as many plates as Guillermo del Toro, and he’s got some big plates in the air at the moment. His next film, Crimson Peak, debuts in October of 2015 and after that he plans on making a smaller film before transitioning back to the world of Kaiju and Jaegers with Pacific Rim 2. Speaking with Collider, del Toro was asked about the sequel and revealed some new details on where we will find the world and its characters. “It’s a few years after the first one. It’s not an immediate follow-up. It is the world having been freed of Kaiju, what happens to the world after – what happens to the Jaeger technology once the Kaiju are not a threat. It’s quite a jump.” Del Toro went on to reveal that Charlie Day and Burn Gorman’s characters will return for the sequel and that fans will be getting more of the “science” of the world. “You’re gonna get a lot of that,” he said, “but the Kaijus are very different and you’re gonna see a very different type of the robots I think. It’s gonna be quite a different adventure.”
Another project Guillermo has been working on is a script for Dark Universe or “Justice League Dark,” a film that sees the characters from the dark side of the DCU, such as John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, and Swamp Thing, come together to stop an ultimate evil. Now, Forbes has learned that the script for the film has been completed and is in the hands of WB’s executives, meaning a decision about further progress on the film could come any day now. Back at the San Diego Comic-Con, Guillermo revealed to us that the project was separate from the other DC films for the time being, but that eventually they would all come together. No release date has been set for Justice League Dark, but Pacific Rim 2 will stomp into theaters on April 7, 2017. Which of these projects are you most looking forward to?
This is pretty interesting news. First let's start off with Pacific Rim 2. Now it's obvious that the film will take place a few years after the first films events, but it'll be interesting to see how the world has developed after the events after the first film. Now with Justice League Dark it is very interesting to see what happens with it. Constantine is a major part of the group and right now the tv isn't doing the greatest and I don't know if Warner Bros. will want to risk putting him in the film. Also it makes sense for the film to get made simply because Warner Bros. has mentioned that there will be separate movies taking place during the major film's timeline and they could potentially cross, but as for right now will just have to wait and see.
20th Century Fox has released the new poster for The Peanuts Movie featuring Snoopy and Woodstock dreaming big and you can check it out below. In The Peanuts Movie, a 3D, CGI-animated comedic adventure, Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace! – embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis, while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home. The most popular and influential comic strip of all time, “Peanuts” was read every day by 355 million people in 75 countries. In addition to the famous strip, “Peanuts” holiday television specials such as “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” have won Emmys and continue to be among the highest rated prime time TV specials. The Peanuts Movie is coming to theaters on November 6, 2015.
This is a really great poster. It's simple and it also paints a very iconic image in the history of The Peanuts. I'm a huge fan of The Peanuts and the trailer just looked so amazing that I'm just really excited for this film and I cannot wait to see it.
So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, which of these stories peaked your interest or was there another story that interested you? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
