My Review of The Forest

So I recently watched The Forest and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado....

The Forest Poster.jpg

When her twin sister disappears in Japan, a young American named Sara (played by Natalie Dormer) becomes determined to find out what happened to her. Sara's investigation leads her to the legendary Aokigahara Forest, located at the base of Mount Fuji. Accompanied by expatriate Aiden, she enters the mysterious wilderness after being warned to "stay on the path." Her investigation plunges her into a dark world where the angry and tormented souls of the dead prey on those who dare to explore the forest.

This was a bad yet interesting film to watch. January is notorious for having some really bad films and those often are horror films as they are what start off the new year as of late. This filmis pretty bad, but it's not to point of being flat out terrible. The film is cliched and it has all of the jump scares you expect from horror films today, but the plot itself is a very interesting. Natalie Dormer is pretty darn good actress and if she can continue to deliver performances like this, then she'll have a phenomenal career down the road. The Suicide Forest as it is so called is a place that we haven't seen many times on the big screen and I'm glad that this film explored it and brought it to the big screen. The film isn't really scary at all due to the film being predictable, but the premise is interesting enough for you to definitely check out. Overall this film doesn't feel like a horror film, but it does have an outstanding performance and it brings a few new things to the big screen we've never seen before I give The Forrest a 3 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Forest, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me  know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
