My Review of Jane Got a Gun

So I recently watched Jane Got a Gun and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Jane got a Gun Poster.jpg

With help from her ex-fiancé (played by Joel Edgerton), Jane (played by Natalie Portman) must defend her family from a vengeful outlaw (played by Ewan McGregor) and his gang of killers in the Old West.

This was a really disappointing film. This was a film that had a lot of production problems from the very get go with changing directors several times before landing Gavin O'Connor and then casting changes until they finally settled on the trio of Edgerton, Portman and McGregor and then production was delayed so many times that the release date was pushed back several times and this film was lucky it wasn't scrapped with all of the problems. But just because you have those problems doesn't men you get a pass as a film overall. To put it blatantly, this film is pretty boring and uninteresting. The film has a 98 minute runtime and the film felt rushed to the point where you don't understand half of what is going on and none of the characters have any development for you to care enough about them. The performances by this trio are pretty great, but the story does nothing to help them with the film. There are no major action set-pieces that you need in a western to make the film fun and this is a film that had a lot of potential to be something great and hopefully a chance to help bring the western film genre back to it' once powerful standing within the film world. Overall this film is has nothing of interest to see even with Academy Award level talent both in front and behind the camera. I give Jane Got a Gun a 2 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Jane Got a Gun, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
