My Review of The Peanuts Movie

So I recently watched The Peanuts Movie and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Peanuts 2015.jpg

Charlie Brown (voiced by Noah Schnapp), the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy (played by Bill Melendez), takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron.

This is just a fun movie to watch. Being a fan of The Peanuts, when you see a film getting made about the character, you can get a little weary because of how Hollywood has pretty much butchered classic cartoons and you hope that it doesn't happen this time around and I can firmly say you will not be disappointed. The film stayed true to who the characters were and they even had sever dimensions added to them that helped the characters develop throughout the film. The best parts of the film mainly involved Snoopy as the The Flying Ace and those scenes prove that Snoopy is the greatest cartoon dog of all-time (sorry Scooby). They also did a great job of using the old quotes/jokes that made the cartoons so great and it also made a lot of callbacks to the various seasonal specials which just made the film so much better and it was a nice omage. Another thing that stood out was the message from film and it's one that all kids, college kids and adults would benefit from greatly. The film has everything you from a great story to great great comedy to heartfelt emotional moments that just make this film one of the best films of the year. Another thing that was really great about the film was the continued use of the original character designs, but using the 3D technology to help update the characters and make it feel more modern. The film does feel a little long eventhough it does have a perfect runtime of 89 minutes. Overall this is a fantastic film that everyone should go see no matter the age and if you are a fan of the old cartoons or the comic strip, then you will not be disappointed at all. I give The Peanuts Movie a 9.5 out of 10.
