My Review of Creed

So I recently watched Creed and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado..............

Adonis Johnson (played by Micheal B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (played by Sylvester Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring. With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title…but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?

This is an absolutely fantastic movie. This movie is what a boxing movie should be the fight. Director/Writer Ryan Coogler does a fantastic job of borrowing from the previous Rocky films, but making his own film within the story and he was the perfect choice for the film and this man deserves a massive blockbuster film because he is now a proven director. The performances are simply fantastic and they mainly come from Micheal B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone> Micheal B. Jordan continues to prove he is one of the best young actors working in the business today. As for Sylvester Stallone gives the best performance of his career and he could make a potential Oscar push and the category of Best Supporting Actor is fairly thin, but it may not be enough for Stallone to get that nomination. One thing that doesn't get mentioned much when reviewing a film is the cinematography and the only time it happens is when it's just too good not to talk about and that's the case with this film. The fight scenes were a thing of beauty and there is one boxing match that is one continuous shot and it made the film feel like a newer version of Raging Bull and the way the cinematography was done in that film. The film was the perfect way to introduce the Rocky franchise back into out conscious and with the financial and critical success if this film, we could be seeing the start of a brand new series within the Rocky franchise. The one knock against the film would be the predictability. It mirrors the first Rocky film in so many ways that you can predict just a lot of the film. Overall this is one of the best, if not the best boxing film of the millennium. I give Creed a 9.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Creed what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
