My Review of Ratchet & Clank

So I recently watched Ratchet & Clank and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Ratchet (voiced by James Arnold Taylor) is the last of his kind, a foolhardy lombax who grew up without a family. Clank (David Kaye) is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. After stumbling upon a weapon that can destroy entire planets, they join forces with a team of do-gooders known as the Galactic Rangers. Together, they must stop the evil alien Chairman Drek (voiced by Paul Giamatti) from utilizing this dangerous technology. Along the way, Ratchet and Clank learn valuable lessons about heroism, friendship and discovering one's own identity.

This is just an utterly terrible film. Listen video game films have been attempted quite a bit over the years and none of them have worked all that well and this film doesn't do it either. If you love the franchise and have played the game in the past, then you will enjoy the film because it has all of the hallmarks of the game and it will be really enjoyable for you. The humor is something that was a huge trademark of the the games and while it was childish, it wasn't so obvious that it took you out of the game, but in this case the humor was meant for 5 year olds and none of the jokes are even remotely funny. The animation does pretty good and had the film itself been good, then may be we might be talking about this film possibly contending for Best Animated Film at next year's Oscars. The voice cast was amazing and they all fit their characters so well and they truly made them come to life. The story is basically something you would see in an installment of the video game franchise and it might've been better suited to be released on that platform than to be released in theaters. Overall there were some bright spots in the film but they are only present in a small sample and it continues the downward trend of video game films. I give Ratchet & Clank a 1.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Ratchet & Clank, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
