So I recently watched The Lobster and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
In a dystopian society, single people must find mates within 45 days or risk being transformed into animals.
This is a really weird, but absolutely fascinating film. The film tells a really thought provoking story and it just takes you on a lot of twists and turns you don't quite understand fully, but you fascinated by the idea of the film and what it is trying to do. It's an imaginative and original film that just captivates you in so many different ways. Colin Ferrell brings this film to life by his heartbreaking performance and he shows why he is one of the best working today and he totally deserves an Oscar nomination for his work. The film at times feels like the movie Tusk in the way that people are turned into animals, but the way it's explained in this film is pretty interesting and develops a great mythology to the entire film. At times the film tends to be funny and while some of the comedic moments were spot on, they often fall pretty short and it really just makes the film not understand the true direction it wants to go in. Overall this is a brilliant film that is both equally quirky and dark, but just about everything works to make this one of the best films of the year. I give The Lobster an 8.5 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Lobster, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
