My Review of Skyfall

With Spectre set to his theaters this weekend, I thought it would be fitting to review the most recent Bond film and the predecessor Spectre ... Skyfall. So without further ado...

Skyfall

In Skyfall, James Bond (played by Daniel Craig)'s loyalty to M (played by Dame Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

There are no other words to describe this movie other than spectacular, magnificent and a statement that this is the best Bond film yet. James Bond is an iconic figure in pop culture today, but mainly due to the older films and stars like Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan and the film quality has been pretty lackluster since 1995's GoldenEye, but this film redeems all of the bad Bond films in one swoop. This film has everything you want such as action, comedy, emotion and really great nods to previous films. As Mentioned the action in the film is superb and probably the best action in a Bond film to date. The performances are spot on and having Javier Bardem as the main villain in the film is one if the best castings of all-time and he may be the best Bond villain. The music is also something you have to talk about when it comes to a Bond film and the music was just terrific and Adele's song Skyfall is just so mesmerizing and perfect. The film also goes down the emotional path which hasn't been seen a lot, if ever in a Bond film and it just works so perfectly with the story and it just makes for a great film. We get to see a small sample of James Bond's origin which is really neat and something we've never seen before. Sam Mendes does a terrific job taking over the directors chair from Quantom of Solace director Marc Foster and Mendes just takes the franchise to a whole new level that we may never see again from a Bond film. Overall this is just the perfect film and the perfect bond film making it the best Bond film yet. I give Skyfall a 10 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Skyfall, what would you rate it, are you excited to see Spectre and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
