So I recently watched By the Sea and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.....
A married couple takes a vacation in France in the 1970s and find that their time in a sleepy seaside town, complete with a unique array of locals, strengthens their bond and reaffirms their marriage.
This movie is absolutely boring. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are two of the best actors on the planet and just about every movie they are in when they aren't working together is generally great and the one other time they worked together (Mr. &Mrs.Smith) was a really fun film, but this film is just dreadful. Angelina Joile took on the duty of directing the film and eventhough this is onl her second directed film (the other was Unbroken) she just doesn't seem like a director at all, but she could get better with more movies down the line. The plot of makes no sense whatsoever and it just goes all over the place. The film moves at a really slow pace and falling asleep during the film is a very high possibility. The film tries to have a deep meaning, but nothing about the film makes sense. Both Pitt and Jolie give great performances, but it just seems like they wanted a French vacation and decided bringing cameras might be a good idea (but for other reasons). Overall this is easily the most boring and dull film that has been released this year and nothing makes any sense. I give By the Sea a 0.5 out of 10.
