So I recently watched The Night Before and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
On Christmas eve, three lifelong friends, two of whom are Jewish, spend the night in New York City looking for the Holy Grail of Christmas parties.
This film is just absolutely hilarious. Seth Rogen over the past couple of years that might be offensive to certain religions or populations and you get that in this film as well, but remember that this is a fictional comedy film. The film just pounds you with joke upon joke upon joke that you don't have time catch your breath. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie are both great compliments to Seth Rogen and each of the main characters have their own special moment within the film. Jonathan Levine did a nice job of directing the film and it helps that he's worked with both Rogen and Gordon-Levitt in the film 50/50 and it was nice for Levine to step out and show that he can do comedy's as well as dramas. The one big surprise of the film is Micheal Shannon who we've never seen do a comedy and every time he is on screen he steals the movie and ends up being the best part and the ultimate supporting character. While the film is very funny, the plot is pretty predictable as well as the jokes and some don't as funny as intended but that's expected with most comedies. Overall this is easily the best comedy of the year some really great performances. I give The Night Before a 9 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Night Before, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
