Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

Universal Pictures has set the upcoming Melissa McCarthy-led comedy Michelle Darnell for release in theaters on April 8, 2016. It takes the place of the previously-announced Clifford the Big Red Dog, which has temporarily been removed from the schedule. McCarthy, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids, headlines Michelle Darnell as a titan of industry, who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget. Based on an original character created by McCarthy, Michelle Darnell will be directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and is written by McCarthy and Falcone alongside their Groundlings collaborator, Steve Mallory. The film will be produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day Productions and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay through their Gary Sanchez Productions. The April 8 release date has Michelle Darnell opening opposite Focus Features’ untitled Jesse Owens biopic. Directed by Stephen Hopkins (Predator 2, “House of Lies”), that film stars William Hurt (Into the Wild, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby), Jeremy Irons (Die Hard with a Vengeance, Beautiful Creatures), Carice van Houten (“Game of Thrones,” Valkyrie), Jason Sudeikis (We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses) and, in the lead, Stephan James (When the Game Stands Tall, Selma).
This really doesn't thrill me at all. It's probably going to be another Melissa McCarthy film where she is the fat girl and all of the jokes are made around that. I'm honestly getting sick and tired of seeing McCarthy do the same thing over and over again. I would like to see what she can do in a dramatic role. Another reason why I'm not too excited about this film is because the same guy who wrote Tammy (which was just god-awful) is writing this film and that makes me less and less interested in the film.

The first teaser trailer for director Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man is here, giving fans an early look at the Marvel Studios “Phase Two” capper and you can check it out below. Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd (This is 40, They Came Together), Evangeline Lilly (“LOST,” The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), Corey Stoll (This is Where I Leave You, Non-Stop) and Michael Douglas (The Game, And So It Goes) and brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Also starring Judy Greer (“Archer,” Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Bobby Cannavale (Chef, Blue Jasmine), Michael Pena (End of Watch, Fury), Martin Donovan (Inherent Vice, Insomnia), Wood Harris (Dredd, Remember the Titans), John Slattery (“Mad Men,” Iron Man 2), Gregg Turkington (“Gravity Falls,” The Comedy), Abby Ryder Fortson (“Togetherness,” “The Whispers”), David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight, Prisoners) and T.I. (Takers, “House of Lies”), Ant-Man features a script by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari and Adam McKay. Look for it to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
This was a pretty great trailer. This was a really nice look at the film after everything that has went on with the production of the film and we finally get our first looks at the film. I really liked what humor we saw in the film and this look like it could be really emotional. I am still worried a little bit about the film, but with another trailer I think I'll be ok.
Speaking of Ant-Man Size does matter, as seen in the first official theatrical poster for Marvel’s Ant-Man and you can check out the poster below. This is a really nice little poster. I mean it does a great job of making fun of the fact that he can be as small as an ant and this kind of gives us an idea of some of the humor that will be in the film. Like I said before I'm still a little worried about the film, but I am really looking forward to it.
One day after 20th Century Fox moved the next Planet of the Apes movie from a July 29, 2016 release to July 14, 2017, Universal Pictures has taken the opportunity and moved back the Untitled Next Bourne Chapter from July 15, 2016 to that July 29, 2016 date. The only other comedy on that date is Fox’s Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates. Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role as Jason Bourne in the fifth installment of Universal Pictures’ “Bourne” franchise. Acclaimed director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Legacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, Captain Phillips) also returns for this much-anticipated chapter, and Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment. Greengrass, Damon and Greg Goodman also produce. The action-thriller is written by Greengrass, Damon and Christopher Rouse.
This is a great move. The Bourne franchise is a very huge one and for its next installment to have a summer release date is huge. It's not going to have a lot of competition on that weekend and it'll probably;y be number one at the box office until Suicide Squad comes out the following weekend. But overall this is a great date for the film and I can't wait to see it.
Voltage Pictures has revealed the trailer for the military drama Good Kill, which reunites actor Ethan Hawke with writer/director Andrew Niccol after their collaborations on Gattaca and Lord of War and you can check it out below. Good Kill tells the story of a Las Vegas fighter-pilot turned drone-pilot (Ethan Hawke), who fights the Taliban via remote control for half of his day, then goes home to his wife (January Jones) and kids in the suburbs for the other half. But the pilot is starting to question the mission. Is he creating more terrorists than he’s killing? Is he fighting a war without end? One soldier’s tale with epic implications. Good Kill offers an exploration of how a man’s psychological, emotional and moral boundaries are challenged by the realities of 21st century warfare. It aims to initiate an important dialogue about the current techniques used in modern war and to illustrate how war is constantly being redefined according to the technologies and methods in play. Bruce Greenwood, Jake Abel, and Zoe Kravitz co-star in the film, which will be released in the UK on April 10, with IFC scheduled to distribute in the US later this year.
This is a really powerful and great trailer. It seems like the film is going to deal with a whole lot of issues that some people in the military face. I also really like the cast that's in the film and it looks like it could be really great. The story really interests me and I can't wait to check it out.
