Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...
(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)
Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has been cast as Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action interpretation of Beauty and the Beast, to be directed by Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) and produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Production is anticipated to begin later this year. Though Watson had been attached to another version of Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont’s fairy tale at Warner Bros., that project stalled after director Guillermo del Toro dropped out last summer. Apparently Del Toro gave Watson his blessing to move on to Disney’s version, no doubt sweetened by the fact that the script was written by Stephen Chbosky, who directed Watson in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The actress took to Facebook to announce the project to her fans: I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx. Beauty and the Beast will be the latest in a string of live-action retellings of classic Disney animation the company has embarked upon, including Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and the upcoming March 13 release Cinderella, as well as Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book which opens in April 15, 2016.
This is fantastic casting . Emma Watson is one of the most gorgeous women on the planet and I think she is perfect for the role of Belle. I'll be really curious to see her singing abilities and hopefully she can pull of something miraculous. Now the only question left is who will be The Beast. All I know is that I love the casting and I cannot wait to see her in this role and film.
With the latest franchise sequel having entered production last year, Paramount Pictures has some very exciting news today for Mission: Impossible fans. Mission: Impossible 5, formerly planned for release on December 25, 2015, will arrive nearly five months earlier than expected! Look for Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt to once again grace the big screen this July 31! The hybrid CGI / live-action family film Monster Trucks, meanwhile, will take Mission: Impossible 5‘s original Christmas Day release. That film was previously scheduled for release on May 29, 2015. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie (The Way of the Gun, Jack Reacher), Mission: Impossible 5 also stars Jeremy Renner (Marvel’s The Avengers, Kill the Messenger), Alec Baldwin (The Departed, “30 Rock”), Simon Pegg (Star Trek, The World’s End), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Dawn of the Dead) Simon McBurney (The Last King of Scotland, The Theory of Everything) and Rebecca Ferguson (Hercules, The Red Tent) and features a screenplay by Will Staples and Drew Pearce. The July 31 date will see Mission: Impossible 5 opening opposite the Antoine Fuqua-directed boxing drama Southpaw (starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Rita Ora and Victor Ortiz), the Ericson Core-helmed big screen remake of Point Break (starring Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer, Edgar Ramirez, Luke Bracey) and Tarsem Singh’s Ryan Reynolds-led science fiction thriller Selfless. No plot details for Mission: Impossible 5 have, as of yet, been released.
This is a pretty interesting release date. Now let me say that this is a great choice to move it away from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens because it 's going to get so many repeat viewings that Mission Impossible 5 will lose some money. As for the new date It is going up against a lot of competition and I just think it wouldn't make as much as the previous installments did especially with the films that come out the week after on August 7th (The Fantastic Four reboot). I think the better date would have been July 10th. It would be great counter-programming for the Minions movie and it would be coming out just a week after the 4th of July holiday so it could have done really well and I just don;t think this new date will work out the way Paramount wants it to, but who knows I'll probably be wrong like I usually am.
In just two months, 20th Century Fox will begin production on the long-awaited Deadpool solo movie. Though it might seem like the film has had a tough road getting on the big screen, star Ryan Reynolds says the production happened the right way and is allowing them more freedom. “It’s been a long time, but it’s happened in the right way and that’s all that matters,” Reynolds tells MTV. “We don’t have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that’s great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that’s why we get to make the movie we want to make.” The outlet also asked Reynolds if he felt more pressure stepping into the role following the “ups and downs” of 2011’s Green Lantern. “No, no, no, of course not. You gotta have faith in the people you’re working with, and have faith in the prep, and that’s all I’m doing. On this one, the prep’s been 11 years. You’d like to think you’re putting your best foot forward, but we’ll see.” Finally, the forward momentum for Deadpool can be traced back to the leaked test footage that debuted online last summer, but Reynolds says he can’t take credit for it. “I would have FOX’s lawyers so far up my ass they could smell Wade Wilson’s feet. No, no, no I didn’t leak it. But I would have. Looking back now, in a heartbeat. I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I’ve got in there.” Tim Miller is set to direct the film from a script by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool is currently set for a release on February 12, 2016.
I really like these comments. Ryan Reynolds has been rumored to be Deadpool since at least his appearance in Blade:Trinity as Hannibal King and he finally got his shot in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and that didn't turn out so well. With this new start on the project I feel like this could be a great film and I absolutely love Ryan Reynolds's enthusiasm for the film and the character.
Having wrapped filming in December, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has a lengthy year+ post-production period in order to not only finalize effects, but figure out editorially how to cram in a grab bag of heavy hitters including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Lex Luthor, Cyborg… and let’s not forget Lois Lane! The intrepid reporter will be reprised by Amy Adams, who told Press Association that amid the chaos of the story, Lois will only share one scene with Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne/Batman. “He is going to be his own unique thing. He’s got a wonderful quality and a great body of work,” Adams said. “I was only in one scene with him, I think I’m allowed to say that. So I didn’t get to see much, but what I saw was fantastic.” Technically this isn’t Adams’ first run-in with the Caped Crusader, having screen-tested opposite her future American Hustle/The Fighter co-star Christian Bale in 2004 for Batman Begins. That said, she seems particularly excited to see a whole new Batman begin. “We’re not allowed to speak about it, but I just want to tell everybody everything,” says Adams. “I’ve spoken about working briefly with Gal as Wonder Woman and Ben as Batman and had a wholly positive experience. And teaming up with Zack, Henry and Laurence Fishburne again is so much fun. I like playing Lois, it’s a real privilege for me. I never really expected it. I can’t wait to see it. Just the part I’ve seen looks really exciting.” Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
I really enjoy these comments. Amy Adams is a fantastic actress and I honestly think she is perfect for the role of Lois Lane. I am also really glad to know that she only has one scene with Batman/Bruce Wayne because that's all there needs to be and it wouldn't take anything away from the film. The more and more I hear about this film the more and more I get excited and I just cannot wait to see it.
Following the departure of formerly attached screenwriter Gary Whitta earlier this month, Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm, Ltd. have, according to a story today at The Hollywood Reporter, set Academy Award nominee Chris Weitz to work on the screenplay for the first standalone Star Wars film. Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards remains attached to direct the project, which is scheduled for a December 16, 2016 release. Weitz launched his screenwriting career with the 1998 animated comedy Antz. He’s best known, however, for his Oscar nominated work adapting Nick Hornby’s About a Boy in 2002, a film that he also directed. Other directorial credits include The Golden Compass in 2007 and The Twilight Saga: New Moon in 2009. As a screenwriter, Weitz’ work can next be seen in Walt Disney Pictures live action take on Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh and slated for a March 13 release. Although the mysterious Star Wars film has been rumored to follow a heist involving the theft of the Death Star plans, few official details regarding Edwards’ film have been made available. The project appears to be close to the casting stage, however, with a report from last week suggesting that actresses like Tatiana Maslany, Felicity Jones and Kate and Rooney Mara have all read for a potential role.

I think this is a really great choice. This guy is a talented writer adn I think that he'll bring something different to the table and plus add on to what Gary Whitta has come up with. He has wrote a few bad films (a lot of people do), but he has wrote some good films and I can't to see what he puts on the paper.
