4-16-14 Movie News

Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)

20th Century Fox has released the final trailer for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past which you can watch below.

Opening in theaters on May 23, the film stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, Lucas Till and Evan Jonigkeit.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class, in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

This trailer looks amazing and it gets me even more excited to see the film. The marketing for this film unlike The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been unbelievable in the sense that it doesn't give away the entire film. I'm really looking forward to this film and I'm excited to where it takes us in the X-Men Universe.

Speaking of X-Men: Days of future Past, back in December, director Bryan Singer revealed that even though she had shot a sequence for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, Anna Paquin's Rogue had been cut out of the film. The very keen eyes at BuzzFeed however, noticed her name was still present in the credits of the final trailer for the film, and have confirmed with Fox that Paquin will in fact appear in the film in what is described as "essentially, a cameo." So keep your eyes peeled this May for Rogue's appearance in the film.

I'm not shocked by this news. Back when Empire magazine released X-Men: DOFP covers one of them ended up being Rogue. That led to speculation that she may be back in the film. So this news confirms it and I'm glad because eventhough the Rogue character has been horribly underused in the franchise, it's still great top see almost all of the x-men (except Cyclops who I believe is still alive) coming together.

A new sneak peek at Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy aired last during "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." on ABC and you can now check out the video below.

The penultimate entry in "Phase Two" of Marvel Studios' ongoing cinematic universe, Guardians of the Galaxy is written and directed by Gunn and features an ensemble cast that includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Karen Gillan, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Gregg Henry, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Vin Diesel.

The adventures of an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions, Guardians of the Galaxy hits the big screen on August 1.

There is nothing really new in this clip except a little more dialogue from Chris Pratt as Starlord. but I'm really excited to see this movie and August can't come soon enough.

        "A horror icon is reborn."

No, it's not one of those A-list horror icons. Nor is it necessarily one of the classic movie monsters. It's Leprechaun, the famous, malevolent little imp who, we think it's safe to say, is one of those B-level (or C-level?) horror icons that rampaged through a slew of films – most of them direct-to-DVD.

This year, he's making his comeback with Leprechaun: Origins, a no-nonsense reboot from director Zach Lipovsky, WWE and Lionsgate and, tonight, an official poster has made its debut. WWE's very own Hornswoggle plays the eponymous menace, taking over for Warwick Davis.

No release date, yet. Nor do we have a plot synopsis to share, but we think you get what this one is about. A trailer is expected to drop very soon. The first poster has been released and you can check it out below.

This poster looks really, really good. Now let's just say that I really enjoyed the Leprechaun movies (they are very campy and very terrible movies, but the nostalgia is just irresistible). I'm curious to see where this film goes and what it will bring to the table.

Open Road Films has debuted, via Moviefone, the trailer for Eli Roth's upcoming horror thriller The Green Inferno and you can check it out in the video below.

Directed and co-written by Roth (with Guillermo Amoedo), The Green Inferno stars Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara and Kirby Bliss Blanton and follows a group of student activists who from New York City travel to the Amazon to protect a dying tribe, but crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they saved. The Green Inferno opens in theaters September 5, 2014.

This teaser is creepy as hell. I love Eli Roth movies and this one has the capability of being the best one yet and I can't wait to see it.
