My Review of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

So I recently watched Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

The T-virus unleashed by the evil Umbrella Corp. has spread to every corner of the globe, infesting the planet with zombies, demons and monsters. Alice (played by Milla Jovovich), a former Umbrella employee turned rogue warrior, joins her friends on a last-chance mission to storm the company's headquarters located deep underneath what used to be Raccoon City. But the Red Queen (played by Ever Anderson) knows that Alice is coming, and the final battle will determine if the rest of mankind lives or dies.

Thank goodness this franchise is over because this film is a steaming pile of garbage. Resident Evil was a force to be reckoned with when it first came out on top gaming consoles back in the 1990's and the idea for a film seemed like a great idea at the time, but unfortunately you got a guy like Paul W. S. Anderson putting his hands all over it, it makes for a very messy collection of films and this is the cherry on top. This film in particular is dopey from the very beginning and if you haven't forced yourself to watch the previous 5 films (yes 5 films), then you are lost from the beginning and it honestly doesn't even cater to the people who have only watched the films and it gears itself more towards the ones who have played the games. There really is no coherent storytelling whatsoever and it constantly repeats itself over and over again by basically putting the same scenes together just in different locations and it's make for a lazy film that you can't get into. There are some action scenes that were pretty decent, but when you see the same ones throughout the film, you can easily get bored and basically predict everything else that is going to happen. With this film being the final film (crossing fingers), maybe the studio can take a hard look at themselves and ask whether they want to make newer films and follow the games or just stick to games and honestly it should be the latter. One thing that gets pretty annoying is the fact that husband and wife Paul W.S. Anderson and Mila Jovovich are working together on the film and when they know the film is bad they make it anyway and it just goes to show how lazy a film can get. Overall this is a welcomed addition to the franchise as it is thankfully the last one and hopefully our eyes can stop bleeding from watching atrocious, trashy, pathetic and inexcusable films. I give Resident Evil; The Final Chapter a 0.5 out of 10.
