My Review of Little Men

So I recently watched Little Men and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado......

Little Men (2016 film).jpg

Two teens develop a growing friendship in Brooklyn, N.Y., while the feud between their respective parents (played by Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Ehle) continues to escalate.

This is a really emotional and powerful film. In our world today we see a lot of hate between different races and different classes of people and for a film to tackle that issue in way is pretty ballsy. You get the emotional innocence coming from the two child actors whose characters don't understand the full picture of what is happening around them and they as kids just make the best of it. This film does really paint a picture of how we live life today and how we have to make choices that we think are the best for our families eventhough they may hurt someone else. Greg Kinnear is great in the role as the father and emotes so much emotion as you see him try to figure everything out and how to best solve problems. While his character is a tweener between being a good guy and bad guy, you get to see different emotions emote from Kinnear which is something we've never really seen do before in any of his other films. The story while important, does seem a little too melodramatic and it's just a simple one to tell. The film does establish a lot of great characters, but you don't really get to know any of them other than the boys and it's mostly due to the short runtime of 85 minutes which isn't a lot of time to establish a ton of appeal. Overall this film really drives home the emotional moments, that often overshadow what the film is trying to say in its overall message. I give Little Men an 8 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Little Men, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
