My Top 10 Least Favorite Films of 2016 So Far

While the first half of 2016 has had a lot of amazing movies, there have been a lot of really bad ones. So with that being said I'm going to bring you my top 10 least favorite films of 2016 so far. So without further ado...

10. Fifty Shades of Black

If Fifty Shades of Grey wasn't already bad enough, imagine a parody film that is actually 10 times worse. Spoof films have gone by the wayside with the last decent one being Scary Movie which came out in 1999. One commoen factor about that film and this film is Mr. Marlon Wayans and he's gotten worse as the years have gone by. None of the jokes are even funny and it was just a complete cashgrab off of the minor success of Fifty Shades of Grey.

9. Meet the Blacks

As mentioned before with spoof films, they are just dreadful nowadays and just like Fifty Shades of Black, this film parodies one of the more stupider films ever made The Purge. Mike Epps is a phenomenal actor and the fact that he has to stopp this low for a film role is just sad. None of the jokes are even remotely funny and they are forced and the pop culture references and glorified cameos are just too much for this type of film.

8. The 5th Wave

You know it's bad when you can tell how crappy a film is going to be just be watching a trailer. The only reason why this film was made is because the current Young Adult Novel film franchise are ending and this one is trying to capitalize a create a new breed of films. This goes to show that not every Young Adult Novel needs to be made into a film and unfortunately there are other books from this franchise so we're probably going to get more crap in the near future.

7. God's Not Dead 2

Listen I am a devout Christian and I have strong feelings in my beliefs, but there are always to everything and one is judging. We are told not to judge people, but to love them even if they don't agree with the same things we do. In most modern day faith-based films, they often bash the other side for their beliefs and films that have fixed agendas are not always good for the rest of the population. I'm not going to love everything that is geared towards my faith because I'm not being true to myself and one thing I don't like is this film.

6. The Masked Saint

It's bad when watching a "superhero" film you laugh more than yous should do the strupidity of the film. That's what this film tries to be and it just comes off as absolutely ridiculuous. As I mentuioned in my review of the film, just because you claim to be a superhero doens't necessarily mean you're always doing the right thing. Sometimes we just have to sit back and let the wolrd take course the way it was meant to.

5. The Darkness

Blumhouse might be the most financially successful studio in Hollywood today, but this might there worst film to date. We will never really see a truly iconic horror film in this generation mainly due to the lack of ideas and while that isn't the filmmakers fault, they have to realize that using the same plot lines and troupes of older horror films doesn't mean they are going to work now.  It's even worse when you stars of the film look more interested in a piece of gum on the ground then they are about the film. This might actually be one of the worst horror film ever made.

4. How to Be Single

This is a monstrosity of a film. It's running joke of why people are single and how pathetic they are for being single. The film also contridicts itself by talking aboout how good one stands are and that true love doesn't exsisit. yet make of people who are single. It's amazing that actresses like Rebel Wilson and Allison Bree signed on for this load of garbage (not surpised by Dakota Johnson since she seems to attract garbage films). It's really an offensive film that makes women look bad and really just shows how sad and pathetic wome  are when they know that they'll never have a relationship because of their attitudes towards men and relationships,

3. The Choice

Once again Nicholas Sparks has graced us with another film adaptation of one of his books that might actually be the worst film of the bunch. As with every other Nicholas Sparks film, the plot is the same throughout and nothing ever really changes other than characters names. Legendary actors such as James Garner, Alan Alda and Tom Wilkinson sleepwalk through these films because they know they are too god for films like these and do ti for the paycheck. I would say Nicholas Sparks is running out iof ideas, but he already did that 12 years ago.

2. Gods of Egypt
Against a backdrop of Egyptian pyramids, an ensemble cast of Egyptian gods and humans on differing scales pose.

How hard can it be to make a film based on Gods and Ancient Egypt? Not that hard, but this film showed the wrong way on how to handle it. The story is confusing from the first scene and don't fully get any exposistion that is relevant. None of the actors seem interested in the film and that makes the execution of the dialogue one oif the cringiest parsts of the film. Alex Proyas is a fantastic director who is from Egypt himself, so it would seem he could handle the film and it ends up falling of the track before it can get going.

1. Norm of the North
Norm of the North poster.jpg

You don't often see animated films at the top of a worst list mainly due to the unique ways the stories are told and that the animation is state of the art. Well this film proves that not all animated films are safe. Norm of the North is one of the dumber films ever made and it tires so hard to be funny and pull of emotional moments that it actually comes off as a sad attempt to make a film. How in the world do you think casing Rob Schneider as your lead is a great idea? He's so unfunny that his friend Adam Sandler didn't want him in Grown Ups 2. That's where Schneider is in his career and this is a sad and worthless attempt at a paycheck.

So ladies and gentlemen what are some of your least favorite films of the year so far and what do you think of my list? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
