So I recently watched Star Trek Beyond and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
A surprise attack in outer space forces the Enterprise to crash-land on a mysterious world. The assault came from Krall (played by Idris Elba), a lizard-like dictator who derives his energy by sucking the life out of his victims. Krall needs an ancient and valuable artifact that's aboard the badly damaged starship. Left stranded in a rugged wilderness, Kirk (played by Chris Pine), Spock (played by Zachary Quinto) and the rest of the crew must now battle a deadly alien race while trying to find a way off their hostile planet.
This was a really brilliant film. This new rebooted franchise has been nothing short of perfect so far and this film just adds to it. Many believed that with JJ Abrams leaving the franchise as a director for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens that the newest film would take a nosedive, but it didn't and Justin Lin was the perfect person to replace Abrams. He just brings his own action packed style to the franchise ans it works really well to were you are just on the edge of your seat the entire time. Once again this brilliant cast gives amazing performances and the one that stands out is Anton Yelchin and it was pretty sad watching him on screen just a month after his tragic death and it'll be interesting to see how the franchise will move on without his character. The two new additions of Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella were perfect for this film and their characters felt like they belonged in the universe. While Idris Elba does a great job in the role, his character does feel like a mustache twirling villain with some really whiny intentions that just seem cartoonish. The film has a great plot and it does feel like a really spectacular episode of the 1960's television show which will appeal to a lot of people. Overall this film is just a really great addition to the franchise and it puts the franchise is a good posistion to continue one for a very long time. I give Star Trek Beyond a 9.5 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Star Trek Beyond, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
