My Review of 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

So I recently watched 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Six members of the Annex Security Team defend the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, from an attack by Islamic militants.

This was surprisingly good movie. Micheal Bay has been the butt of a lot of jokes over the years and he has made a lot of really bad films in his time aside from The Rock Armageddon and the first Transformers. He generally doesn't do well with true stories as proven the atrocity known as Pearl Harbor and the sickening Pain & Gain and with this story a lot of the fear going in was that he would butcher this like he did those other films and he actually made a great film. Now it does have a lot of the normal Micheal Bay traits such as low camera angles and quite a few explosions, but none of those take away from the film. It tries to be fair to both sides, but it might lean a little towards the American side than anything. The acting in the film is pretty great and mainly from John Krasinski as he really carries the film on his back and the other actors around just build off of his intensity and it makes for a really well-acted film. Overall the story could've been handled a lot better, but it does a good enough job to get the story close as possible to the actual events and this may be Micheal Bay's best film yet. I give 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi a 7 out of 10.
