So I recently watched Sicario and I'm here to bring you my review. so without further ado............
At the border between the United States and Mexico, idealistic FBI Special Weapons and Tactics Teams agent Kate Macer (played by Emily Blunt) is enlisted by a government official to aid in a joint task force tracking down an anonymous drug lord.
This is a really intense film. One of the best directors working today id Denis Villeneuve who has 2 incredible movies before this one (Prisoners and Enemy) and you can add this film to his list because it is amazing. The acting in the film is superb as Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benico Del Toro all give spectacular performances that are all Oscar worthy. It also has some of the best cinematography in a film this year and the is due to the legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins. It moves at such a fast and intense pace that it can be hard to keep up with the film, but you are just so engaged that the pacing at times isn't even noticeable. The story and themes are important and insightful and it just shows you some of things that go on beyond the border. The film takes you on a lot of different twists and turns that keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. The one thing that bothered me was the fact that there weren't enough scenes with Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro. Overall this is an intense film filled with Oscar-caliber actors and performances. I give Sicario an 9.5 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Sicario, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
