6-25-14 Movie News

Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)

Columbia Pictures has released the trailer for writer/director David Ayer's Fury, opening in theaters on November 14. Check it out in the video below

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs co-star.

This trailer looks really awesome. I'm a huge fan of war movies and this really interests me. When I first heard about the film I wasn't to excited bu this trailer has put this film into one of my most anticipated films of the second half of the year.

On the heels of this morning's cover reveal, EW has released seven new stills from George Miller's upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road! Check them out in the gallery viewer below, along with three new pieces of storyboard art from the much-anticipated sequel.

Tom Hardy takes on the role of damaged road warrior Max Rockatansky (played by Mel Gibson in the original three films) while Charlize Theron stars as a commander named Imperator Furiosa. Also starring Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and many more, the film is directed by Miller, who has directed every "Mad Max" film, from a screenplay by himself, Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris.

These photos look awesome. This film has been through a lot over the years, but now that shooting has finished and we have a release date I'm excited for this film. It'll be interesting how everyone will receive the film but I can't wait to see it.

We got the first domestic trailer earlier this month, and now an international trailer for Universal Pictures' Dumb and Dumber To has been released and can be watched below. While the trailer starts exactly like the domestic version, you get new footage in the second half of the video.

Directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, the November 14 release stars Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Rachel Melvin, Kathleen Turner, Brady Bluhm, Laurie Holden, Steve Tom and Rob Riggle. In the film, Lloyd and Harry head on a road trip to find a child Harry never knew he had and the responsibility neither should ever, ever be given.

This is a pretty funny trailer. Now granted this is pretty much the same trailer as the one that was released a couple of weeks ago but the newer stuff in the film makes me think back to the original film. I don't care what anyone says I'm excited for this film.

Big news broke yesterday with the reveal that Shane Black has plans to "reboot" 20th Century Fox's Predator. Today, the Iron Man 3 writer and director (not to mention star of the John McTiernan original) tells Collider that his film does, indeed, tie to franchise continuity. "Why start over, when you've all this rich mythology yet to mine?" Black says, adding that he can, "...really get behind inventive sequels."

Black will be directing the new film and writing the treatment, which will then be scripted in full by Fred Dekker (with whom Black worked on Monster Squad). The 1987 original was directed by John McTiernan and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of a United States special forces team that comes under attack from an alien entity that prizes the thrill of the hunt above all else. It was followed by a direct sequel, Predator 2, in 1990 before crossing over with Fox's Alien franchise for two additional sequels, Alien vs. Predator and AvP: Requiem. In 2010, Nimrod Antal helmed a reboot with a new feature, Predators.

This is really cool to hear. I kind if agree with Black in the sense that why start over when you have so many possibilities. I will admit that I am not a huge fan of the predator franchise (besides the original), but with a guy who knows the universe this film has the chance to be great.

Although Breck Eisner signed on to direct back in April, Deadline reports that the The Crazies helmer has exited Sony Pictures's The Karate Kid 2 due to schedule conflicts. The studio has also brought aboard a new screenwriting pair, Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer, to rewrite the script, previously drafted by Zak Penn, Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris.

The original movie, directed by Harald Zwart, modernized the beloved 1984 classic starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, and opened big with $55.6 million in June 2011, before going on to gross $359 million worldwide.

Both Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith are planning to reprise their roles for the sequel.

Honestly I could care less. I wasn't to big of a fan of the remake nor am I fan of Jaden Smith (who is a spoiled whiny little kid that only got famous becuase of daddy). I did however like Jackie Chan. In my opinion this film  could get any director and I wouldn't look forward to to it  the film is unnecessary but there is nothing I can do about it.
