My Review of Kidnap

So I recently watched Kidnap and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...........

A typical afternoon in the park turns into a nightmare for single mother Karla Dyson (played by Halle Berry) when kidnappers snatch her young son Frankie (played by Sage Correa). With no cellphone and no time to wait for police, Dyson jumps into her car to follow the vehicle that holds Frankie. As the pursuit turns into a frantic, high-speed chase, Karla must risk everything and push herself to the limit to save her beloved child.

This is one of the most boring and predictable movies of the year. Halle Berry was at one time one of the best actresses working and her Oscar win for Monster's Ball was well deserved, but since then she hasn't really done many great films or given great performances.and this film continues that. The film feels like a callback to an earlier Halle Berry film entitled The Call where basically somebody gets kidnap and Halle Berry tries to track them down and save the person being kidnapped. So it turns out the same basic predictable crap we see from Hollywood on a constant basis and the fact that the same actress is involved in the same film makes it even worse. There are some nice action set pieces, but none of them matter in the grand scheme of things. The film does try to take you one way and makes you think something is going to happen and it ends up not happenings and tries to give you a twist that just is absolutely terrible. As mentioned before Berry has given a lot of recent terrible performances and this one is just an amazing observation of how winning an Oscar doesn't mean you'll have continued success afterwards. Overall this is a boring and lazy film that is virtual remake of an earlier film with the same actress in the leading role. I give Kidnap a 0.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Kidnap, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
